Chapter Eighteen: Attacked

Nala PoV

Last week was the best week of my life not having to worry about a thing, getting spoiled by the

guys. Watching movies, eating sweets, long walks in the forest I now have full hiking gear. I always

end up cuddling with one of them at night. Also, I loved my new room, it was perfect, and I never

had anything like that.

But sadly we can't keep living in my perfect world and I have to face reality and go back to work.

After I told Christian earlier about work he kind of lost it, but I'm not ready to just depend on the

guys. I need my own independence. When I lose them, cause I always lose the thing I love I'll need a

back-up plan

This is how I ended up sitting with Kane in the car he volunteered to drive me and it's the first time I

notice where I'm staying. The property is huge, we are forty minutes away from town, it takes ten

minutes in the car to even reach the gates and there is a guard there! And I never even noticed any

of this too busy living in my own bubble.

Kane told me they had my name on the gate so all I have to do tell them to take me to the main

house if I ever get lost or went out on my own.

The ride to town was mostly silent I was too taken by own thoughts. I don't want to lose them, as I

lost before but what if they gave up on me or found a better mate.

After we got to the dinner Kane took a seat and said he'll be staying with me. My eyes widened with

shock, I don't want him to stay our customers aren't always the best.

"You don't have to do that" ~Nala

"Yes I do sweets, I'm not leaving you alone, now go I'll be here * ~Kane

Ughhh can this day be any slower. Every time one of the customers try and talk to me or wink at me

I can hear Kane growling and giving them death glares. I got my share of glares when he saw my

uniform up at close, the thing was too short and too revealing no matter how much I pull it down

then my breast will show, and when I pull it my bum is on the show it's a lost battle.

We were coming to the end of my shift, Kane went outside on a phone call, the others kept calling

to check on us. A group of six came in, I went over to see a group of dirty looking bikers and not the

sexy kind. Their hair is full of Greece they smell like cheap alcohol and tobacco

Taking a deep breath so I won't have to breathe their odor I come to the table and ask

"What can I get you gentleman" ~nala

"Aren't you a lovely site” ~biker one

"Oww I can just eat her up" ~biker two

"How about you and me baby go and have some fun" -~biker three with a wink

I just stand there and wait for them to finish, not even blinking I was used to this by now. Finally,

they ordered some food.

Kane POV

Alpha was driving me crazy with his phone calls and if that wasn't enough my twin worry was

making me nervous. Me and Kyle we share a bond we are two faces for the same coin, so when he's

worried I can feel it. This bond almost killed us the first time but I'm not letting that happens. Nala is

different I know it.

After ending a call with Ryland this time I get back in the dinner and smelled wolf. Stranger wolves

on our territory. I panic and scan the floor searching for Nala she's standing next to the register safe

for now.

The wolves, six of them are sitting in a booth back at the corner.

We are leaving. I send a quick message to inform my pack about trespassers. And go to Nala

"Leaving Now Walk," I say in a clipped tone.

Nala looks at me like I'm crazy

"I still have one table then we can leave" and she node toward the wolves.

Ohh heck no!!

I throw nala over my shoulder and get out.

"What are you doing ...put me down...Kane let me go" she scream while hitting my back trying to

get down.

We are almost at my SUV when I feel someone following.

"Hey, were you going the party just started,” said a gruff voice from behind them.

"Yeah man there is plenty to go around and your pack is known to share," another said while

laughing at his joke

"Stay behind me Nala and wait for the guys” I push Nala behind me and pray to god they get here

soon.

All hell broke loose when those idiots shifted in the middle of public space but Kane had to protect

his mate so he shifted too.

Fighting, snarling, bitting he was doing all he could. But it was six to one not fair at all. One of their

claws found Kane flank while another pinned him down he was losing and then Nala just jumped on

top of the offender and tried to pry him off.

Nala POV

Nobody mess with what's mine. I saw Kane going down and I didn't think I just attacked.

I jumped over his back, had my hand around his neck trying to keep away from his teeth. I just need

him to let Kane go. It worked but then another jumped on to of me. Ohh shit now what? I was

panicking trying to fend off a big bad wolf. His teeth came around my neck I screamed from the

pain.

The last thing I remember is seeing a silver shadow and the wolf was gone but so was I.
