Chapter 319 Saved Her Life

Mu Zhi turned around and stared at the hand that was holding hers tight. Then she flung it off fiercely

and taunted, “Let go.” Lu Jinye glanced at Mu Zhi. They were already by the roadside. He could see

that Mu Zhi had come by herself today.

She did not drive. Lu Jinye scrutinized Mu Zhi, hesitated a while, and invited, “Let’s talk about it in the

car.” It felt uncanny conversing in a cemetery.

Mu Zhi threw Lu Jinye a suspicious glance, then followed him into his car. As soon as she got in, she

directed, “Okay, you can start speaking.”

While igniting the engine, Lu Jinye gazed into Mu Zhi’s eyes and explained, “This was your mother.

Needless for me to point out, she looked exactly like you.”

“So what? It would not be a complicated task for Chairman Lu to find a Photoshop professional to

doctor some photos.”

“And what do I get doing all these?”

Lu Jinye frowned and stared at Mu Zhi.

Mu Zhi did not want to look at Lu Jinye. She folded her arms in front of herself to display her reluctance

to cooperate.

Then she proclaimed deliberately, “Hadn’t Chairman Lu’s intentions been clear enough all this while?”

“I understand Chairman Lu’s anguish over losing your beloved wife, but please refrain from hinging

your love onto others.”

Mu Zhi stopped right after she said these words.

She demanded Lu Jinye, “Do you care to stop at the shoulder ahead? I want to get out of the car.”

Hearing Mu Zhi’s words, Lu Jinye scowled helplessly.

He did not intend to let Mu Zhi go so quickly. Mu Zhi pressured Lu Jinye, “Let me go off now.”

“Chairman Lu, love is supposed to be a mutual affection, not personal indulgence. You’re forcing

yourself upon me now.”

Mu Zhi was clearly pushing Lu Jinye away by any means possible.

Lu Jinye frowned and leered at Mu Zhi. Finally, he stopped the car by the side and analyzed, “It is

easier to find your transportation here. If you want to take the bus or the train, walk straight to the

junction ahead. If not, you can just flag down a cab here. But it’s almost noon, so there might be fewer

cabs going around.”

Lu Jinye explained in such detail to Mu Zhi that he could not help but applaud himself for being on the

qui vive.

However, Mu Zhi looked aloof. She simply threw a short glance at Lu Jinye, and replied, “Okay.”

Then, she got out of the car and stood by the roadside.

Lu Jinye paused and waited a few seconds before leaving.

He drove towards a junction and turned left. But he stopped his car at an intersection and observed Mu

Zhi at a distance.

Mu Zhi stood by the roadside and monitored the traffic. At last, she chose to flag down a cab.

Indubitably it was what Lu Jinye said. It was a challenging task to hail a cab at this hour.

After failing to stop a car for a long time, she spotted a restaurant at a distance. So, she decided to

have a bite at the restaurant.

When Mu Zhi walked towards the restaurant, Lu Jinye slowly put up his window.

But there was no indication that he was leaving.

He stayed put and kept an eye on Mu Zhi.

Nevertheless, after Mu Zhi went into the restaurant, Lu Jinye suddenly noticed a suspicious woman

with a cap secretly stalking Mu Zhi. She sneaked out from the dark and fixed her eyes onto Mu Zhi,

who was sitting by the window.

Lu Jinye looked daggers at that instance as he carefully observed that woman.

She looked particularly familiar!

On the spur of the moment, she suddenly waved her hand. This action turned out to be a kind of a

signal as immediately after, a car sped towards Mu Zhi at high speed from afar.

Mu Zhi raised her head in surprise. Before she could react, the car had accelerated towards her like a

bat out of hell.

It was going for Mu Zhi.

Mu Zhi anxiously tried to dodge, but it was too late.

Just at this time, Lu Jinye suddenly stepped onto his accelerator and sped towards the car.

At this moment of crisis, Lu Jinye fortuitously was a second ahead of that car.

Just as the car was about to hit Mu Zhi, Lu Jinye’s car stopped right in between them and knocked the

car aside and away from Mu Zhi.

This huge blow made Lu Jinye giddy all at once.

This created havoc in the restaurant a sudden, but Mu Zhi was still puzzled about what happened.

She had just taken a seat, but the car was obviously speeding towards her.

If it were not for the car that stopped right in front of it, she must have been dead by now!

Mu Zhi was in a cold sweat when she thought of this, but she could not care at all. She stood up from

the chair and walked towards her savior, who was in the car.

The car grew increasingly familiar to her as she gradually walked towards it.

Mu Zhi was blown away when she opened the door. It was… Lu Jinye!

At this juncture, Lu Jinye was already nearing unconsciousness and trying hard to hold on.

He had a wound on his left hand.

Mu Zhi tore off a corner of her dress instinctively, pressed it onto Lu Jinye’s wound, and wrapped it to

which doctor this is? We shall dispatch the ambulance right now.”

When the nurse called Mu Zhi a doctor, only then Mu Zhi paused for a bit and explained, “I’m sorry, I’m

not a doctor.”

But Lu Jinye had seen all of Mu Zhi’s response.

The corner of his lips slightly curled into a smile.

Mu Zhi performed exactly like a doctor who had clinical experience.

Mu Zhi reacted to her instincts without realizing it. However, Lu Jinye noticed.

Shortly after, Lu Jinye slowly closed his eyes.

Mu Zhi looked at Lu Jinye and took a deep breath. She felt almost suffocated.

She didn’t expect Lu Jinye to be her savior.

“Lu Jinye.”

Mu Zhi couldn’t help but call out Lu Jinye’s name.

“Don’t lose me. You have to stay conscious.”

Mu Zhi cried out Lu Jinye’s name once more. Lu Jinye slowly opened his eyes and fluttered his

eyelashes weakly.

Nevertheless, Mu Zhi felt increasingly grief-stricken.

It continued until the ambulance arrived and brought Lu Jinye to the hospital.

Mu Zhi rushed to the hospital as well as fast as lightning. By any means, Lu Jinye got hurt because of

her.

Mu Zhi felt heavy with guilt. When they got to the hospital, Lu Jinye was promptly sent to the

emergency room. Mu Zhi stood in the hallway and waited for him anxiously.

Time passed by… And she got increasingly nervous as time ticked.
