Lu Jinye could not help but frown when he saw the long queue.

“Are you sure we can get a table?”

It was one of the most popular restaurants on the internet. Besides, Lu Jinye did not expect the crowd.

He stared at Xiao Qingqing, saying, “We can come back next time, I’ll get my secretary to make a

booking in advance.”

After finishing his words, he turned around intending to head back to the car.

But Xiao Qingqing seized his hand. Blinking at Lu Jinye, she pleaded, “You could hardly get a seat at

the restaurant with a booking anyway, you need to get a coupon a day prior and then show up to queue

for a seat.”

Hearing that further deepened Lu Jinye’s scowl, “So, what cuisine is this? I’ll get a chef to prepare a

meal for you at home.”

Xiao Qingqing let out a beaming smile. She pulled Lu Jinye towards the restaurant slowly with her soft

and silky hand. She came before a woman, saying, “Luo Li, thanks for queuing for us, we can take it

from here.”

The woman who was addressed as Luo Li smiled and whispered a few words into Xiao Qingqing’s ear

before leaving.

ahead of Luo Li so they did not have to wait long before entering.

They barely missed Liang Yunzhan and Liang Jieyi when they arrived at their spot.

Lu Jinye did not like the idea of queuing with the crowd. His and Xiao Qingqing’s appearances stood

out profoundly in the sea of people. Passers-by would not resist stealing a few extra glances at them as

they walked past. It was even more unsettling for him.

However…Today was Xiao Qingqing’s birthday. She went through the effort to get someone to queue

on their behalf, so he must not disappoint her.

as she was preparing to eat, a little boy’s voice arose.

“Dad, they’re there, do you think we can sit near them?”

Liang Yunzhan was clear of his son’s personality. He was cold and reserved. Thus, quarreling with Mu

Xiaomu was beyond his nature.

His son’s intention was unquestionable to get closer to Mu Xiaomu while doing so without getting

realized.

“I’m friends with Mu Xiaomu’s mother, why don’t we share a table with them?”

Liang Yunzhan glanced at Mu Zhi and decided to be a wingman for his son.

Liang Jieyi pretended to protest, “Must we sit together?”

In the end, Liang Yunzhan left no breathing room for Liang Jieyi and headed towards Mu Zhi’s

direction. He greeted Mu Zhi casually, “Do you think we can sit across you guys? My son wants to sit a

little closer to your daughter.”

“No way, I don’t want to be anywhere near Mu Xiaomu at all, I’m worried that she will be a bad

influence on my bright mind.”

Lu Jinye and Xiao Qingqing noticed Liang Yunzhan and Liang Jieyi the moment they entered the

restaurant. Mu Zhi was facing away from the entrance so Lu Jinye did not notice her.

He turned to Xiao Qingqing, saying, “Brother is over there, let’s go and greet him.”

Xiao Qingqing obliged with composure, “Sure.”

She would gladly mix with Lu Jinye’s friends. She felt that it was the only way to solidify her stature as

his woman.

Following behind Lu Jinye, she approached Liang Yunzhan and greeted him with a light smile, “What a

coincidence, brother.”

In the end, she swept around and noticed that… Sitting across him was none other than Mu Zhi.

Mu Zhi felt a chill down her spine the instance she heard Xiao Qingqing’s voice. She let out an

awkward smile, “What a coincidence.”

Fortunately, Mu Xiaomu was sulking after quarreling with Liang Jieyi. She went to the children’s play

area to play on the slides.

So she barely missed Lu Jinye.

However! There was an element of unfortunate… She hardly took two bites of her kids’ meal and Mu

“Do you want to share a table? I can move to the next table.”

The table could only fit four adults. Besides, the seating arrangement was fixed due to its rigid policy.

Xiao Qingqing nodded at Mu Zhi with a courteous smile and bid Liang Yunzhan goodbye before getting

ushered to another table with an equally as magnificent view.

As she drew her eyes away from Lu Jinye, she noticed Liang Yunzhan was staring at her.

“What’s the matter, brother?”

Mu Zhi looked at Liang Yunzhan doubtfully.

Liang Yunzhan wore a faint smile, “I find you rather interesting, Miss Mu, don’t you feel a tinge of anger,

seeing Jinye with Miss Qingqing?”

They were aware that Mu Zhi was Lu Jinye’s contracted wife. Inevitably, they also heard of Mu Zhi’s

glamorous feats.

On the other hand, Xiao Qingqing intentionally sat across him. So that she could observe every

movement between Mu Zhi and Liang Yunzhan.
