Li Lei stood beside the window.

These years, it seemed that nothing that happened was big enough to trouble him. He patted James’ shoulder and smiled. “Thank you, James.” The discussion ended like this.

He turned around and walked out.

Wei Lingnan lowered his voice. “So you don’t know what it is?”

“Is that important? It is my child.”

Wei Lingnan inched towards her. Before he could get to her, a few men from the Li Family blocked him. They gave him a warning look and prevented him from getting any closer to Xia Yingluo. Thus, Wei Lingnan stopped moving. “Only the queen can be pregnant with the World Tree, but you said that you aren’t the queen?”

Xia Yingluo’s voice was cold. “Even I don’t know what’s going on. Perhaps the rules on your planet have changed and not only the queen can be pregnant with the World Tree.”

Wei Lingnan fell silent. He also considered this possibility.

Although the queen of Skatana Planet always gave birth to the World Tree, no one knew if the princesses who died before ascending the throne as queen had the ability to breed. Was this ability unique to the Queen? Or was any female of the Skatana Planet able to do it? No one knew for sure. Perhaps, just as Xia Yingluo said, many rules were changed when they reached Earth.

Watching him sigh, she added, “Besides, haven’t you already found your Queen Gu Jinxiu?”

The slight sarcasm in her voice made him frown.

“You can’t give birth to the World Tree,” Wei Lingnan said.

She turned around and brushed across his shoulders as she walked away.

“Chief Wei, Miss Gu is here.” Someone carefully knocked on his office door.

“Let her in.” His voice was very dark.

“When did this happen?”
