Xia Ling could not explain why, but Su Tang’s words made her uncomfortable, almost as if it was a curse from hell. She did not like Su Tang, not at all. And yet, she did not have it written on her face. She raised her chin slightly to appear high and mighty as she said to Su Tang, “What? Before I come to a bad end, you’ll meet yours first—over the next few days, someone will send a lawyer’s letter to you, to charge you for abusing children, and you will lose your custody over Li Rui. From now on, Li Rui will be living with us, and I will raise him like he is my own... He will have enough time to forget his evil biological mother.” Taking over her rival’s child as her own and seeing her clench her teeth in anger in helplessness... it felt pretty great.

Xia Ling was more than satisfied with herself. She side-eyed Su Tang provocatively before taking her leave.

She left Su Tang alone in the ward, who then grabbed a flower vase and hurled it against the door.

Li Lei walked towards her and said, a little seriously, “Why are you here? I’ve been looking for you.”

She tried to downplay it. “I was a little bored, so I decided to take a walk around.”

“Take a walk around, and you found your way to Su Tang’s ward?” Li Lei did not intend to let her off so easily.

Xia Ling was at a loss for words. She glared at him with some annoyance. Why was he asking the obvious? “Yes, I tried to get you away so I could find trouble with Su Tang.” Since he was already having questions, she might as well give him the answers. “She hurt my son, of course I have to give her a piece of my mind! She should consider herself lucky that I didn’t hit give her a bashing!”

Li Lei frowned. “Xiao Ling...”

“Why are you here?” She asked.

Little Shaohui blinked his beautiful eyes and said meekly, “Dad came to look for me. He told me that he made you angry, and wanted me to check whether you were still mad.”

“And he isn’t here to appease me himself!” Xia Ling was upset again.

But, how would Li Lei dare to come look for her? She was now an expectant mother and her emotions were unpredictable. What if he antagonized her and ended up hurting her or the baby? All things considered, he decided that the least risky method was to get his son to help him check on his dear wife.
