Drunk Love
Dealer's Girl
Madi POV:
I have never felt this much anger in my entire life. On top of that I was sad, upset, heartbroken all the above.
Lexi damn Williams has been beside me this entire time.
How did I not connect the names?
How did I not realize my best friend was here?
Why was I so stupid to trust her!?
I pulled out my phone and texted Liv.
Madi: Change of plans. Can you pick me up?
Liv: Yeah is everything ok?
Madi: No. I wanna party
Liv was here in five minutes. She was alone as she pulled up to the curb.
"Madi? What's wrong?" She asked as I sat in the passenger's seat.
"Everything was a lie." I whispered.
She did a U-turn and continued to drive. "What? What happened? Where's Lexa?"
"I don't want to talk about her." I used the mirror to wipe the mascara out from under my eyes.
"What did she do? Do you want me to have a few words with her? Lizzie can get violent if you need her to." Liv stopped at the red light.
"I just wanna have a drink. Or two." I told her.
I ended up drinking an entire bottle of vodka.
"Madi, it's time to go." Liv was holding my arms as she pulled me to the car.
"Who let her drink that much?" I heard Chase ask.
"I didn't think she'd actually drink the whole thing. She said she wanted a shot." Liv argued.
I felt myself moving and realized Liv was driving.
"Did you drink?" She asked Chase.
"No." He shook his head.
"We'll take her home." Liv said.
Then I was in my house.
"Okay, just go to bed. You'll have a really big headache in the morning and you might be sick considering this is, what, the second time you've drank?" Liv laid me on my couch.
I waited until I heard the door slam before sitting up. My eyes landed on the coffee table. My phone. My keys. And a picture.
The picture of Lexa and I.
Lexi.
I stood up, grabbed the photo and left my apartment.
Lexa POV:
I stared at that picture for hours.
I wanted to ask Madi if she made it home safe. I want to know she's okay.
My thoughts were interrupted as there was a knock at my door. My eyebrows furrowed. It's past two am. I stood up and walked to the door.
The first thing that caught my eye was a ball of yellow.
"Madi?" I questioned.
"Lexi! You left this at my house!" She held up the picture of us. Her words were slurred and she was wobbling on her feet.
"Are you...drunk?" I asked.
She pushed past me and stood in my living room.
"Did you walk here? And where did you get alcohol?" I moved forward to help stabilize her.
"I went to the party!" She shouted.
"Shh!" I shushed her.
"I feel...weird." She slurred, spinning around.
"Come on, let's get you to bed." I guided her to my room.
"This dress is itchy. Where's your dress?" Madi giggled.
"I'll get you a change of clothes." I ignored her question.
"Lexi. Lexi. Lexi. Alexis. Alexa. Lexa. Alexandrea." Madi was looking at the picture of us from earlier.
I pulled out a t-shirt and a pair of shorts and laid them on the bed.
"I already have shorts on, missy." Madi put her hands on her hips.
"Okay then just wear the shirt." I told her.
Madi turned so her back was to me. "Unzip me, pretty please."
I took a deep breath and stared at the ceiling. I unzipped the dress but held it so it didn't fall.
"Okay, I'll hold the dress and you remove your arms from the straps. Then put the shirt over your head and I'll let go of the dress as we fix the shirt." I explained.
"Too many directions! You do it!" Madi was swaying in her spot.
"Please just help me out." I told her.
"Fine, bossy pants." Madi laughed.
She slowly removed her arms and put the shirt over her head.
"It's too dark!" She shouted.
"Put your head through the top." I said.
She pulled her head through. "Hey, I can see again. You cured me, Lexi."
It was weird to hear someone calling me Lexi again after so long.
"Yeah, you're welcome." I pulled the shirt down the rest of the way and then pulled the dress down.
It landed in a pile on the floor and Madi flew forward so her upper half of her body was on the bed.
"Go." I tapped her legs.
She rolled onto the bed and continued rolling all the way across. I reached forward and grabbed her before she rolled off the bed.
"Your bed smells like you." Madi laid on her back and closed her eyes.
I pulled back the covers and motioned her in. "Get in."
"Are you gonna stay?" She rolled back over to me and got under the covers.
"I'll be in the living room." I put the covers up to her chin.
She shoved them off. "Stay with me."
"No." I denied, putting the covers back.
She pushed them off and sat up. "I thought you liked me."
"Madi." I stared at her.
She laid back down. "I really like you." She whispered.
"I really like you too. Goodnight." I told her.
Madi grabbed my arm before I could turn away.
Then her lips were pressed against mine.
I pushed her shoulders back and she looked at me with a pout.
"No." I repeated. "Lay down."
Madi laid back down and I covered her again.
"I love you." Madi's words were slurred but I heard her perfectly.
"Tell me tomorrow." I couldn't tell her I loved her when she wouldn't even remember me saying it. I picked up her dress off the ground and walked towards the door. I turned off the light. "Get some sleep."
"Goodnight, Lexi." Madi muttered.
"Goodnight, Madi." I shut the door behind me.
I laid her dress over the back of the chair as I walked to the couch and laid down.
I looked at the door again but I saw a picture on the ground. I picked up the picture of us we took earlier and sat it on my coffee table before laying back down and closing my eyes.
The first thing I heard when I woke up was angry footsteps. It feels like I haven't even slept.
"What am I doing here!?" Madi shouted.
I sat up and looked at her.
She was still in my shirt and she was glaring at me as her hands massaged her head.
"Yeah, you might not wanna scream. I bet your head is pounding." I stood, rubbing my eyes as I headed to the medicine cabinet.
"How did I get here?" She whispered, closing her eyes.
"You knocked at my door around two. You were drunk." I pulled out the Advil and grabbed a cup for water.
She then looked down at her outfit. "Did you change me?"
"You were whining about how your dress was itchy." I shrugged, walking over to her. I held out the Advil and water. "Take it, you'll feel better."
Madi continued to glare at me. She grabbed the Advil after a moment and took it with water.
"I'm leaving." She stormed to the door.
"What about your shoes? And your dress?" I asked.
Madi groaned, grabbing her shoes and her dress before storming to the door again.
"You're welcome." I muttered.
She faced me. "I'm still very angry with you."
"I know." I nodded. We were silent for a moment and she turned to the door. "Why did you come here? To Virginia."
Madi stayed in her place for a moment. "I saw Mary Ann's computer. She was looking up schools in Virginia. I thought she was looking for a school for me. Maybe after all this time she was just looking for you."
That's all she said before she was gone.
I let out a deep breath.
Was Mary Ann really looking for me?
