Chapter 20
A Love Bom From Vengeance by Tuesday Parsons
Chapter 20 Pretty Lady, Are You Interested in Being My Daddyâs Girlfriend?
âMiss, are you okay?â the security guard asked out of concern.
âIâm fine, thank you.â Celia held her box closely and strode into the apartment complex. Her heart was in turmoil when she entered the elevator because those two men clearly targeted her box.
Could they know whatâs inside? It holds my motherâs documents and notebook. Who would want them?
Celia couldnât believe Pansyâs horrible attitude toward her throughout her childhood when she recalled the close bond between the woman and her mother.
After returning to her apartment, Celia dialed Bryceâs number and recounted the dayâs event.
âGive me the documents, Celia. Let me do the investigation,â Bryce offered his assistance gladly.
âAlright.â Celia nodded. âIâll give them to you tomorrow.â
In the evening. Celia read her motherâs notebook on the couch. She was overwhelmed with muted emotions and profound grief. Her motherâs words were filled with longing for her.
The notebook contained numerous recipe notes, which were the result of her motherâs hard work. It was extremely precious.
Just as tears began pooling in her eyes, her phone rang. The caller surprised her. It was Cutieâs father. Itâs probably the little guy, she thought.
âHello?â She answered the call.
âHave you eaten, Pretty Lady?â
âI have. What about you?â Celia asked with a smile.
Indeed, it was the little guy.
âIâm counting stars on the balcony! Do you miss me, Pretty Lady
âOf course! Itâs just that Iâm busy with work and canât think of you all the time?
âThink of me when you have time, okay? Also, have you considered what I said last time?â
âWhat about?*
âAbout being Daddyâs girlfriendââ
Celia couldnât help finding it amusing. The little guyâs family seems pretty well off Thereâs no way his father find a girlfriend
Im sorry, but Iâm really busy with work right now I donât have tune for datingâ
Til ask my daddy to wait for you. Iâll have him take you out for a meal when you have the timeâ The little guy didal pressure her Instead, he was patient
Hugo had just come out of the bathroom, wearing a robe Has sharp collarbones and necklines were prominent, and has well-developed chest muscles werdtantly visible

As he listened to his sonâs voice on the balcony, he walked over and heard him talking on the phone with
someone.
âIn that case, you canât like someone else, okay, Pretty Lady? You definitely wonât be disappointed with my daddy!â
Hugo was taken aback. Is he secretly talking to the girl who saved him the other time?
For the first time, he felt like his son had grown up. The kid was actually beginning to worry about his marriage.
âSure!â Celia acknowledged with a smile on the other end of the line, thinking she was merely entertaining the boy. âI wonât like anyone else.â
âAlright, thatâs a promise!â
âYeah, itâs a promise.â
Just then, Jeremy sensed something amiss in the air, and there seemed to be a faint, fragrant smell. He turned around, surprised to find his father standing behind him.
âDaddy, youâre done showering!â The child grinned, then pressed the speakerphone and said to his father. âCome, Daddy, say hi to Pretty Lady!â
Celia, who was also watching the view from the balcony, was startled. Is his father right next to him?! Good Lord, he didnât hear what I said just now, did he?!
âYou shouldnât be disturbing others at such a late night. Hugo crouched down and reprimanded his son gently.
âGot it!â said the little guy, feeling somewhat aggrieved.
âItâs alright, sir.â Celia clarified at once. âYour son didnât disturb me. We had a pleasant conversation.
Her voice was crisp and captivating, carrying a hint of familiarity that left Hugo perplexed.
It sounded like her, but even sweeter and more natural, as melodious as flowing water.
âIâm sorry that my son called you at this hour. Please forgive him,â Hugo apologized on the phone, considering that she was a married woman and her husband might misunderstand.
âItâs okay, donât blame him. I really like your child!â Celia had an inexplicable feeling toward the little guy. She felt a strong sense of familiarity from the moment she saw Jeremy.
âThank you. Have a pleasant evening,â said Hugo before hanging up.
Celia was somewhat surprised. She looked at the hung-up phone, genuinely worried that the little would be reprimanded by his father.
guy
The little guy had his phone taken away from him, and he pouted, looking at his father. âDaddy, I was just chatting with Pretty Lady!â
âAlright, donât disturb her anymore. Got it?â Hugo ruffled Jeremyâs little head. The little guyâs birth mother was in this very city, yet Hugo had to keep it a secret from him.
At the thought of Celia and Bryceâs relationship, exasperation surged within Hugo.

âLetâs have lunch together,â Bryce invited her.
âMy treat,â Celia said, wanting to thank him for helping her with the contract.
He smiled. âSure, Iâll book the restaurant.â
Just then, her phone rang. âItâs my father. Let me answer this,â she said after checking the caller and went to the balcony.
âHey, Dad.â
âCelia, do you have time tomorrow?â
âWhat is this about?â Celia asked.
âTomorrow is the anniversary celebration of my company, and I would like to invite you to join us.â
âBut Iâ¦â Celia wanted to refuse, but Callum pleaded emotionally, âI know I havenât been the best father to you, but I really hope you can come.â
However, she still wanted to turn him down. âBut, Dad, I-â
âItâs decided then. Dress nicely. Iâm looking forward to your presence, he interrupted and hung up.
Celia sighed, but considering that her father had personally invited her, it would be inappropriate for her
to refuse.
After hanging up Celiaâs call, Callum received a call from his wife.
âCallum, is Celia coming?â Pansy asked softly.
âYes, I asked her to come.â
âWonderful! We should come together as a family on such an important occasion. Iâm glad sheâs coming.
Callum was also thrilled that Pansy finally accepted his eldest daughter. Last night, she whispered a series of apologies in his ear, feeling guilty toward Celia and wanting to find an opportunity to repair their relationship.
Callum was naturally willing to fulfill her wish, but little would he know of the malicious intentions his dear wife harbored toward Celia.
After that, Pansy made an internal call and summoned her most trusted and capable male manager.
Very quickly, a man in his mid-thirties entered. He had slicked-back hair and a very oily appearance. He was Michael Yoder, the eloquent sales manager, and Pansyâs most trusted subordinate.
âYou called, Ms. Coffman?â
âMichael, you are the person I trust the most and my most capable subordinate. Now, I want to entrust you with a task for tomorrow,â
âI will fulfill your every wish, Ms. Coffman, Michael said, eager to earn Pansyâs appreciation.
