Chapter 22
A Love Bom From Vengeance by Tuesday Parsons
Chapter 22 Saved by Him
It was lively in the banquet hall, and Pansy could sense that Celia wasnât enjoying the occasion. Seeing that she was leaving, she sent an elder from the Stuart Family to approach Celia, holding a glass of wine.
âDo you remember me, Celia? Iâm your fatherâs cousin.
Celia had little contact with relatives on her fatherâs side, but since she was an elder, the young woman greeted her with a smile and said, âHello.â
âWe met when you were little, and youâre all grown up now. Come, have a drink with me.â The woman turned and took a glass of red wine from the tray and handed it to Celia.
Unguarded and unaware that there was something in the randomly offered glass of wine, Celia raised her glass and clinked it with her aunt.
âCome on. Iâve finished mine. Can you do me a favor and finish yours too?â Celiaâs aunt requested..
There was only half a glass of red wine left in hers, so Celia finished it without thinking. âYouâve grown into such a beautiful girl,â said the woman, patting Celia happily before she walked away.
Meanwhile, she exchanged glances with Pansy, who nodded in response, happy that the woman had accomplished what she had instructed her to do.
In the crowd not far away, Michael was secretly delighted. The girl has taken the bait. Soon, Iâll be able to take her upstairs to enjoy myself. Plus, no one can accuse me of anything later if I say I was merely helping her upstairs. Instead, she threw herself at me!
Celia genuinely wanted to leave now. She felt thirsty just then, so she asked the server for a glass of water. She took several sips, yet she still felt inexplicably warm.
On the other hand, Michael had been secretly observing Celia from across the room. When he saw her porcelain-white face turning slightly flushed, he knew the drug had taken effect.
Celia wanted to step outside for some fresh air. However, she felt lightheaded when she got up. She wasnât sure if it was due to the glass of wine she had earlier or something else, but she felt woozy.
Just then, Pansyâs female assistant appeared and supported Celia. She said, âMiss Stuart, are you okay? Whatâs wrong? Shall I help you to rest for a while?â
Celia nodded, thinking the assistant was just being nice. âYes, Iâd like someplace to rest.â
With that, the assistant supported Celia as they left the banquet hall, and when they reached the elevator, Michael appeared.
âMiss Stuart, I canât accompany you upstairs. Please let Mr. Yoder take you up,â the assistant said to Celia at
once.
As soon as the assistant withdrew her hand, Michael stepped forward and supported Celia. However, the young woman hated being touched by men. Naturally, she shoved him away. âI can walk by myself.â
Alas, she stumbled just as she leaned against the wall to walk. Once again, Michael held her shoulder. âLet me take you upstairs to rest, Miss Stuart.â
âLet go. Donât touch meâ¦â Celia instinctively repelled anyoneâs touch despite feeling dizzy.

Michael smirked inwardly. Still wonât yield and become mine when youâre already like this, eh? What a beauty. Sheâs certainly the prettiest woman Iâve ever played with.
With his lust rising. Michael had no more concerns at this point.
He looked at Celia, so beautiful and captivating, with thoughts of possession filling his mind. Even if it cost him his life later, he would indulge in this pleasure first.
While Celia was panting, feeling as if her whole body was on fire, Michael led her to the side of the elevator. The hotel and restaurant were located above the banquet hall, and he had already booked at
room.
The elevator chimed and opened just then.
A man stood lazily inside the elevator with one hand in his pocket, exuding a charming and handsome
aura.
Despite not recognizing him, Michael was startled by the manâs imposing presence.
Under the elevatorâs spotlight, the man had an exquisite and noble face, emanating an aura of aloofness that kept others at a distance.
Celiaâs head hung low, her body supported by Michael as they entered the elevator. Her long hair covered. her face.
She let out a muffled, distressed groan as she pressed her forehead against the elevator wall, her long hair firmly concealing her face.
Michael spoke up at once, pretending to be her lover as he said comfortingly, âHold on a little longer, darling. Weâll be in the room soon, and you can rest.â
Hugo glanced coldly at the woman in the corner. Women in this kind of situation usually willingly degraded themselves to become playthings for men, and they didnât deserve sympathy.
Celia couldnât stand on her feet anymore. Her body suddenly slipped, startling Michael, who quickly reached out to catch her. However, even though Celiaâs consciousness was unclear, her aversion to men was instinctual.
âDonât touch me.. Celia growled and raised her head weakly, her fair face illuminated by the light as it revealed her captivating allure.
The elevator stopped on the thirteenth floor, and the man who was about to step out of the elevator turned to glance inside the car when he heard the voice.
In that instant, his gaze narrowed abruptly while his eyebrows furrowed fiercely.
Damn it, why is it her?
Michael, on the other hand, hurriedly coaxed Celia and said, âDarling, itâs me. Everythingâs fine now. Everythingâs fine.â
Hugo immediately understood what had happened to the woman when he analyzed her disoriented state and noticed no strong smell of alcohol in the air.
While Michael was half embracing Celiaâs waist and trying to calm her down, a large hand grasped the womanâs arm. The next second, Celiaâs limp body was firmly held in another manâs arms.

The strangely familiar and refreshing scent made Celia furrow her brows. She raised her eyes slightly with blurred vision.
Whoâs this? Either way, it didnât feel like it was the man from earlier. It was someone with even greater strength and taller stature.
Michael exploded with anger, realizing that his prey was about to be taken away from him. âHey, what are you doing, trying to steal my woman? Let go of my girlfriend!â
Hugo snorted. A toad like you think you can have Thumbelina, especially when this one used to be mine!
At that, he took an icy gander at Michael and carried Celia in his arms, intending to leave.
Celia, for some reason, felt extreme aversion when the man from earlier touched her. However, being in the arms of this man, whom she couldnât clearly see, gave her a sense of familiarity and safety,
Her slender arm naturally wrapped around his neck as she rested softly in his embrace.
âLet her go!â Michael roared. He had also had a few extra drinks that night, and his rationality couldnât stop him from seeking trouble.
As Hugo stepped out of the elevator, Michael reached out to stop him. âGive her back!â
âF*ck off!â Hugo sneered.
âSheâs my girlfriend. Sheâs drunk. What are you doing? Trying to kidnap someone?â Michael lied with guilt.
âI told you to f*ck off!â Hugo barked, gritting his teeth.
However, Michael didnât want to go down without a fight when Hugo appeared out of nowhere and snatched the beautiful girl in his arms away.
Hugoâs gaze turned sub-zero, and he lifted his leg. Despite carrying a woman in his arms, it didnât hinder him from booting Michael down.
Caught off guard, Michael stumbled back several steps and fell flat on his back.
âHow dare you hit me?! I wonât let you off. Just you wait. Michael writhed in pain, unable to get up.
Hugo lowered his head and looked at the woman in his arms. Her face was flushed, and she was unconscious. He knew he had to prioritize saving her.
If he wasnât holding Celia, Hugo wouldâve gladly beaten up the sc*mbag.
