▫️ Prologue ▫️

Ayaan was pissed - more than usual. The pressure from the match and the constant attention, and the chaos of being the university's star athlete had been suffocating him all week. But all that frustration faded the moment he saw her.

Naina.

She was sitting alone on the bench in a quiet part of campus. He knew she was trying to avoid him, he couldn't let her. Not now. Now after everything that had happened. He walked over to her, his steps deliberate, his heart racing in a way he couldn't quite explain ".

Without saying a word, he sat beside her, watching her shift uncomfortably. Her eyes flickered to him, and she quickly looked away, her fingers fighting with the sleeve of her sweatshirt.

"You're avoiding me." He said, his voice soft but firm, like he was speaking to someone who belonged to him.

She didn't respond, but he could see the tension in her body. She didn't want to face him, didn't want to acknowledge what had happened between them that night. The kiss. The way she had kissed him then run away, and now sat here pretending it hadn't meant anything.

He reached over, his fingers gently lifting her chin so she couldn't avoid his gaze, "Don't do this Naina." He murmured, his thumb brushing over her lips, "You can't run away from what happened."

Her heart raced as she met his gaze, the weight of his words sinking in. She wanted to pull away, to deny everything, but her body refused to cooperate.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about." She said, her voice shaky.

Ayaan's lips curved into a small, soft smile, though his eyes were dark with intensity, "You kissed me, Naina, and I'm not going to let you pretend that it didn't happen." His voice dropped, becoming more commanding, "8'ned you to relax.... Just breathe. Let go for once. You think you can just escape this? Escape me?"

He moved closer, his breath warm against her ear, his lips brushing on her cheek, "I'm not going to let you run anymore."

He kissed her gently, but with a sense of possessiveness that made her stomach tighten. It was a kiss that spoke volumes - no desperation, but an undeniable claim.

When he pulled away, he didn't let go of her, keeping her close. His hand found hers, holding it like it was the only thing anchoring him to reality.

"You kissed me, and now, you're mine, Naina." He whispered, "and you are not running away from me. Not again."
