Chapter 32: Human (1)

When Ye Yu opened her eyes, silence filled her ears. Sounds of battle-cry by the Ye Residence’s soldiers had already been tossed behind them a long time ago; she was unable to hear anything now.

Looking at the continuous vast land, Ye Yu searched this location up in her memory and came to the conclusion that she had never been here before.

This was probably a new place forced to be opened up.

Ye Yu sighed and then slowly and carefully attempted to climb down 500 silvers’ back. However, the latter didn’t plan on cooperating with her at all. He ke[t his head up and refused to look back at Ye Yu, don’t mention even bending his body to let Ye Yu down.

Clearly, he was still angry that Ye Yu wanted to “travel separately during times of great catastrophe.”

After Ye Yu tested 500 silvers a few times, she was forced to submit to the weak body and its acrophobia. She reached over and stroked 500 silvers’ fur on his slender neck. “500 silvers, bend down and let me down first?”

“…”

500 silvers continued to ignore her, not looking at her.

After he swung his tail, he thought it wasn’t enough and then stepped on a rugged stone, standing on its tippy-toe.

Ye Yu immediately felt as if her line of sight had opened up to new heights, making her speechless.

Thinking of past experiences, she knew that this thing was childish and liked to hold grudges. She should’ve prepared herself mentally. But it might not be too late if she tried to remedy the situation?

Ye Yu reached over and stroked the fur on 500 silvers’ tip of his ears, explaining, “I was doing this for you, so I had you escape first.”

500 silvers shook his head and avoided Ye Yu’s strokes.

…It seemed like he was incredibly angry.

Ye Yu laughed and said, “There are definitely countless cultivators in Ye Residence’s army. In Aunt Wang’s home, I was just asking if you are able to leave without injuring yourself after making contact with them, but you ended up hesitating. If you bring me along and end up delaying you from escaping…”

500 silvers seemed to be moved and slightly tilt his ears to listen in on the words.

Ye Yu rapidly stroked him and smiled, continuing, “Wouldn’t that be a waste of 500 silvers?”

500 silvers was speechless.

He thought that he shouldn’t have come here, instead he should’ve headed towards the rugged and narrow mountain, tossing this scaredy-cat woman who hugged his neck tightly whenever he leaped down the mountain.

What a waste of effort that he even maintained his balance to keep the woman from being too afraid… he must’ve been possessed.

Thinking of this, 500 silvers angrily turned around and scratched the ground fiercely with his claws at the same time. Deep and shallow claw marks appeared on the rugged ground.

Ye Yu found pleasure in this and laughed for a while before slowly lying down, turning her body to the side after finding a comfortable spot on 500 silvers’ back.

Gazing at the vast horizon line, Ye Yu still talked with a smile on her face. This time, she looked indifferent and calm.

“Since Princess Ye had endured this for a few days before finally deciding to cause a ruckus and bring Ye Residence’s army here, she most likely had set up both covert and undercover officers to question at all sorts of places in the devil city. She knows about your powers more than I do, so she probably won’t leave any chances for us to luckily escape.”

Hearing this, 500 silvers stopped holding a grudge against her and turned around, looking at Ye Yu in seriousness. He clearly agreed with Ye Yu’s words and even considered this.

“Now…” The woman lying against his back hadn’t noticed his gaze and she continued to say, “You had already repaid me for saving you. Although I owed an extra 500 silvers… but the two fruits that you gave me must be worth more than 500 silvers. I’ll see this as us settling the accounts.”

Speaking of this, Ye Yu then returned back around and gazed at 500 silvers. Her peach blossom-like eyes were clear and sparkling, as though it was smiling. It made 500 silvers think of the lotus flower pond and he enjoyed going as a child in the garden of the devil palace.

“Therefore, we’re both settled, little thing.”

The first moment that 500 silvers realized that he had been absent-minded, he heard the woman saying that they had no relationship with one another again.

The bestial eyes looked conflicted.

Because of his childhood experience and environment, he was able to differentiate the pros and benefits of any situation. He knew that this would benefit him the most, but he didn’t know why… he instinctively rejected this choice.

Ye Yu was still being earnest and explained, “I know you’re a human, oh no, a beast. You must have a solution to escape the Ye Residence’s pursuit. But if you take me along, it will be hard to escape from their pursuit. Therefore, I can’t drag you down even more.”
