Chapter 33: Human (2)

500 silvers remained silent for a while before lifting Ye Yu down from his back; the latter sighed in her heart after seeing that 500 silver seemed to have cooperated.

When her feet landed on the ground, she felt a sense of safety and Ye Yu smiled, reaching over to pet 500 silvers’ ears.

“Good boy. I am very happy that I have met you. So… we’re not going to meet anymore in the future.” After this, she turned around and left.

Although she was uncertain with her future, Ye Yu was open-minded and never afraid to face difficult situations by herself; even more, she enjoyed the feeling of freeing herself from these problems.

But the relaxed feeling didn’t maintain for too long because the false appearance of happiness was crushed by the voice ringing behind her.

“What if I can protect and help you settle down?”

Ye Yu froze in her spot, shocked and the smile on her face stiffened.

The youth behind her had a bright and clear voice, but seemed to be mixed with some uncertain emotions; it was slightly hoarse. But Ye Yu wasn’t in the mood to admire this voice right now. She knew very well that besides her and 500 silvers, there was no one else.

Then, only 500 silvers could’ve possibly said this.

When she still held a fluke mind towards 500 silvers’ status after hearing Li De’s words…then right now, this fluck mind was crushed after hearing 500 silvers.

Ye Yu stayed in her spot, back against 500 silvers and all sorts of emotions and thoughts flickered through her beautiful peach blossom eyes quickly.

Behind her, the originally strong and huge beast had vanished and taking its place was a youth wearing an embroidered brocade robe. His long hair was bound by a crown and he had a clear and young appearance which was slowly shaped into a more mature one. The pair of eyes gazed at Ye Yu and revealed a sense of coldness and deepness that was a complete contrast from his appearance and age.

From time to time, there was a tint of hesitance that flickered in her eyes with conflict.

He didn’t know how his unreasonable and impulse decision might influence and bring unpredictable changes to his plan in the future. He didn’t know whether his decision was right or wrong either… whether he might regret this in the future or not.

What he knew was that when the woman wanted to just leave him and told him that they were never going to meet anymore, there was an overwhelming emotion… that couldn’t be suppressed by reason.

Seeing that Ye Yu still stood there, the youth who transformed from 500 silvers slightly knitted his eyebrows, saying, “You’re not —”

Before he could finish his word, he watched as the woman with her back against him suddenly jumped off from a stone and quickly left in a certain direction as if she hadn’t heard his words.

The youth was stunned and then reacted moments after, his eyes flickering with resent and anger. After a moment, he disappeared from his spot and Ye Yu who was running towards a certain direction was forced to stop.

She helplessly looked up to see the youth who was standing a meter from her. At first glance, she was a bit surprised and stunned. The youth in front of her was at most 15-16 years old and he didn’t specially wear any jade accessories. No matter his temperament or his appearance, it revealed a fresh and clean sense of feeling.

…She anticipated 500 silvers’ size and knew that he wouldn’t be too old, but she didn’t expect him to be a fresh youth. He was so beautiful that she couldn’t help but covet him.

But the moment this thought came up, Ye Yu immediately crushed her thoughts without hesitation. Towards Ye Yu’s feeling of anxiety, the youth had taken this in his heart.

He couldn’t tell that the woman across him was shocked or feeling anything of the sort, making him slightly squint his eyes. “When did you know that I am a human?”

Ye Yu hesitated and said, “…Now?”

“…” The youth was unresigned and continued to probe, “Then why did you escape when I said that I can protect and help you settle down?”

“I didn’t.”

Ye Yu looked genuine and innocent, saying, “I didn’t hear you talk. For real.”

The youth was speechless.

He trained his eyes on Ye Yu who was across from him and the beautiful woman met his gaze, not admitting defeat either. In between, she even blinked her mellow peach blossom eyes. She appeared to be pure and harmless.

“…”

They confronted each other with silence for a long time before the youth finally withdrew his gaze anxiously.

His snow-white ears quickly turned red, but the essence qi moved within his body and the blush rapidly disappeared again.

The youth uncomfortably cleared his throat and said, “…Let me take you somewhere safe.”

He reached over to grab Ye Yu’s wrist and the latter instinctively took a few steps back, avoiding the youth’s hands.

“…” His pitch-black eyes landed on her again, making Ye Yu feel awkward. She laughed and said, “Men and women should keep a distance from each other.”

The youth was speechless.

“Did you forget how you pushed me into the bathtub half a month ago?”

Ye Yu was dumbstruck.

What goes around comes around.

This was retribution.
