✨ Her ✨
His Unwanted Desire
Abhimaan
Dad approached me as I lifted my eyes only to see her standing there. My eyes refused to show the effect I had in every moment of walking towards her. I saw her for the first time and she was dressed up in a golden lehenga, her eyes flattered with her big lashes, her lips chirped into nervousness, she fumbled on her feet as I didn't miss the chance to notice her fisting on her dress.
Her cheeks were crimson red and the eyes were disturbed enough not to look at me despite the urge. She looked like an epitome of beauty. I wondered if I would still look at her in the most negligible way if this wasn't the forced marriage. I doubt if watching her would be still mesmerizing if this wasn't the marriage without a choice.
I was knocking out every other thoughts which gave me hope of ever getting this in a right way.
I know I have to marry her but what's pushing her into this marriage?
Is she behind my money? Is she behind this luxury? Is she behind the attention she is getting?
What it is to get all my answers?
Would it still give me any chance to consider whatever going on right now?
Remember Abhimaan, you are here because your Dad threatened you to be. You are here because you were forced to be.
I was dressed in a black suit with a golden tie on it which I realised later on, was matching with her dress. Only Dad can make this happen, I knew it.
I stood beside her, adjusting my tie and my eyes glued to hers, I felt her sigh as Dad introduced me to her. Strange, isn't that?
I'm having an introduction session with someone I'm going to spend my life with and that too, when I'm minutes away to slide the ring on her finger.
Wait, who said I'm going to spend my life with her? What if it didn't work?
Anyways.
"Abhimaan.... Meet Samantha, your bride to be. And Samantha, meet Abhimaan, my son and your future husband", he smiled as I rolled back my eyes over his mention of special words.
So, her name is Samantha.
"Well, you guys can have a conversation. I have a few guests to attend....", he said as he left us alone. Intentionally.
I cleared my throat with the lack of words I had, because honestly, I have nothing to say to her. Like why is marrying someone she barely knows?
I have heard that she is well educated then, why she is doing something she doesn't have her concern into?
I rubbed my head in frustration, "Aww.... You both are looking adorable", I heard my cousins and my best friend cooing around.
"Hi, Bhabhi! I mean Bhabhi. I'm Armaan, your brother in law....", I watched my cousin approaching her to which she smiled gently.
Bhabhi.... I see.
"And this is Ruhaan Kapoor, Abhimaan's best friend. You are absolutely adorable, Bhabhi....", he said giving me a teasing smile which I barely had any effect of.
Adorable.... We will see.
Idiots.
"Thank you, Ruhaan", and I heard her soft melodious voice as my gaze shifted to her.
So, she can speak too.
"And this is Amyra, your sister in law, Bhabhi. We weren't able to meet that day but we are surely gonna talk a lot", I watched my cousin sister giving her a warm hug.
"Of course. I'm happy to meet you all now", she said softly to which I rolled back my eyes at.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome our lovely couple of the night, Abhimaan Malhotra and Samantha Singh", and we heard Chachu announcing from the centre stage as my Dad's wife asked us to proceed.
I ignored her like always as I walked to the stage. I turned around to face the guests when my eyes fell on her. She was struggling with her lehanga when I watched Ruhaan helped her to get on the stairs. I gritted my teeth when I questioned how can she be so friendlier with someone she met a few minutes ago. Anger aroused inside me as I saw her giving him a warm smile and murmuring a 'Thank you' to him.
She took a few steps towards me and fumbled again on her heels when the urge of helping her forced me to hold her hands tightly. This forced appeal to save her from falling down made me hold her by her waist as I took one of her hands to mine. She roamed her eyes everywhere but not to me when I remembered her smiling face which she just passed it to Ruhaan, I let her stand on her feet cautiously.
"Don't fumble too much. Ruhaan is not present everywhere", I said sternly when she frowned back at me in return.
"Thank you....", she whispered slowly when I replied back with a cold tone, "Save this thank you who is going to save you again", I stated as I watched Chachi approaching me with the ring not before we performed few rituals. Chachi stood beside me while I saw my Dad's wife standing beside the bride to be offering us the rings.
Dad's words not mine.
I took her hands into mine as she shivered back in return, biting her lips in nervousness. The side of ego satisfied inside me watching her in anxiety, I slid the ring in her finger as everyone cheered and she did the same to mine.
The hall soon got filled with the clappings and the clicking sound of the photographers as they were capturing us. Dad barely invited anyone from the media group so, the pictures were taken limitedly.
We sat on the sofa and soon the guests came to us giving blessings and gifts. This ceremony went too long more than I thought as my brain stopped functioning for a while.
I just wanted this to end soon.
I took a side glance at her when I felt that she was feeling hectic too. So, I approached the waiter towards us and signalled him to serve her with a glass of water which she drank in one go. Soon the guests scattered around having their chit chat and trying different dishes. The photographers asked us to pose after taking us in the garden so, we did a few of them.
"Samantha, do you need anything? Are you feeling comfortable?", I watched my Dad's wife asking her as she took a glass of water emptying it one go.
"Can I use the restroom?", I heard her voice which barely comes out in front of me.
She smiled back at her and disappeared taking her when my sight got filled with the people around me. Giving them some responses patiently and ignoring the urge to be invisible, I took a chance and went upstairs to my room. A feeling of utmost peace reached inside my as the crowd and everyone's chatting around was literally annoying.
Taking deeper breaths, I went inside the washroom locking it from inside when I heard the sound of tingling bangles, "What are you doing here?", I asked as soon as I turned around only to face her.
She flinched facing me, "Don't you have a manner to knock?", she questioned me.
"And why would I knock on my own room?", I snapped back.
"Because I'm using it", she blurted out.
"Get out", I ordered, anger erupting inside me.
"What?"
"I said get out", I watched her gulping the lump in her throat when she looked at me nervously.
"I'm in the middle of something", she said slowly when I raised my eyebrows at her.
Her back facing the mirror caught my sight when I realised that her blouse was untied and she might be tying it back. I roamed my eyes everywhere but not at her as I didn't want to face her embarrassed face already.
"Whatever....."
"I need a help. Can you please send Mumma or any female", she asked politely when the word 'Mumma' was enough to provoke me to the core.
She is getting married to me then, why the hell is she too much comfortable with that woman?
I pulled her to me as our bodies collided for a while, turning her around, I tied her knot making her flinched to her place as I didn't let my eyes fall on her bare back and kept looking at her from the mirror until I was done with it.
"Get out!", I ordered angrily as she rushed outside the washroom in hurry. I banged the fist on the dashboard as the whole incident was enough for me to not react. I was provoked to no extent.
Soon, I got out of the washroom when I called a househelp as he informed me that the guests have already left. I sighed in relief and changed into a night clothes when I poured myself a drink. I slide away the curtain to let the darkness come inside me room as I watched Dad taking her to the car. I think she is going back to her home.
I watched her touching every elder's feet and hugging my cousins leaving a soft smile to them. Is she going alone?
I questioned myself when I saw Ruhaan calling her as he was already inside the car, driving and waiting for her to come. An unknown and strange feeling was flowing inside me as I gritted my teeth in anger. I watch her bid everyone a goodbye as her eyes immediately caught my way. Our eyes met when she looked at me intensely. She turned around seating inside the car but not letting her eyes leave mine for a second, same with mine too. We stared each other as soon the car disappeared from my sight.
Note: Why didn't the driver drop her and why does it have to be Ruhaan only?
Well, we will deal with this later.
