Chapter 230
Tattooed Luna Novel
âNo idea.â Al ec put his hand on my lower back as we walked up the stairs. âIâll mind-link him.â
âOkay.â
Thankfully, it only took him a few minutes to respond back to me. âStill on the phone with Emmy. She does have Beckham working on it but it will be awhile I guess.â
âThatâs fine.â I yawned as we got to our room.
âTired?â
âYes...no.â I shrugged. Alec opened the door for us and locked it behind him.
âWorried about tomorrow?â Alec walked over and poured us a glass of whiskey as I sat down on the couch.
âMy dad possibly dying and my brother getting the role he was born for.â Whatâs to worry about?
âI would think death would be welcoming to someone in your dadâs position.â Alec sighed as he sat down beside me. Handing me my drink, I took a sip and leaned against his arm that he draped over.
âIâll miss him.â
âI know but isnât his happiness worth what he has prepared your entire life for?â I looked over at Alec. He shot down the rest of his whiskey and looked at me.
âIt is but the only family I will have left is Colt. As difficult as your parents are... they are still alive. There is something different about when you lose both of them.â
âYou still have Emmy and Jacob. They are like your siblings and as much as you bicker with Jasper, he seems to be like your brother.â
âHe can be annoying as such.â I snorted. Alec leaned forward and set his glass down.
âCome on. Letâs go to bed.â Alec stood up and held out his hand for me. Accepting it, I downed my drive as we walked over to the bed. Taking my shorts, s hit and bra off. I took his shirt he took off and put it on to wear to bed. Sl*pping under the covers, Alec pulled me against him. âSleep. You are safe and loved here.â Darkness took over before he was even finished talking.
âAre you about ready?â Alec popped his head into the closet. I had showered, curled my hair, put makeup on and was standing in front of all my clothes in a pair of matching bra and underwear set. Alec had put on a nice pair of jeans that hugged his as s nicely with a tighter athletic t-shirt. It was a set up from a basic âI canât decide what to wear.â My anxiety was a mile high. My hands shook, my legs refused to stand still and I had to fight off the sweats that kept threatening to mess up my makeup.
âPut on a sundress or one of those shirt things that have shorts attached to them.â Alec walked in and looked at my closet too.
âHere. I like this one on you.â
âYou mean a romper?â Alec pulled down a deep purple flowy romper. The shoulders were capped and the waist was cinched so the bottoms stopped mid-thigh. It had a short V in the front but it honestly made my legs look amazing. After putting it on, I realized I had lost come muscle mass. âI really got to start working out again.â
âHow is your shoulder feeling?â Alec asked as I took the romper off the hanger and started putting it on. The bruises were almost faded but hints of yellow and green were visible.
âFeeling pretty normal.â Looking at myself in the mirror, I felt like I was looking at a stranger. Six months ago, if you would have told me I was getting ready to go have dinner with my dad for possibly the last time as he chose to die, I would have told you, you were lying. My hair is longer, my toned muscles were gone and my skin was ghostly white.
âYou look beautiful.â Alec wrapped his hands around me.
âI look like I need to work out in the sun for six months to look normal.â Rolling my eyes, I grabbed my purse and walked out of the closet. I knew I walked away from him showing me some affection but he wasnât mad. He has been worried about me all morning, even though he has been trying to hide it.
