Call It Off [Boy X Boy]

•Chapter  18 •

*Alexs POV*

~A/N i didnt want to include the issue of Ethan having to drink human blood in order to complete the transition to vampire cause i felt it was unnecessary. im sorry~

We stand up and grab our carry on. We managed to slip me, Matthew and Ethan into one little group of three seats. But Nadine had to sit in front of us. Thankfully we all sat in the front, so we were the first few off.

"God I hate planes." Nadine sighs.

"That's only because you had to sit with an old couple that decided to fight over whether diet coke is better than regular coke." Matthew smirks.

"Don't remind me. I can still hear the entire argument in my head." She rolls her eyes.

"Alright. Alright. Let's find the baggage claim." Ethan says.

We all start following signs. My mom is also at baggage claim and she's excited to share some news and see us. I'm nervous for the news actually.

After what feels like walking half of the airport, I spot my mom. Nadine and Matthew decide to go find our suitcases. And thankfully, mine is bright red and Ethans' is a bright blue so hopefully they'll find ours easily. And if not, it'll just keep going around so it's okay.

I spot my mom and Ethan and I both run over to her. Astor stands next to her and I assume this is what the news is.

"I've missed you!" My mother smiles as she pulls me into a hug.

"And you, Ethan!" She hugs him too.

"Astor. You've grown huh. What are you now, 8?" I joke.

"Haha, very funny. I'm fifteen."

"How are your parents?" I ask, I know it's a touchy subject. They came to fight and went back home. I havent seen them in a couple days.

"Oh same old. A mom who hates me and a dad who didn't want me in the first place." Astor gives me a sarcastic smile.

"Which is part one of the news I want to give you guys.." My mom trails off, looking at Astor.

"Could I stay with you guys? I could get a job so I can help with stuff. I'll do chores. I just can't stay with them anymore. I feel so unwanted and unloved." He looks between Ethan and I.

"I'll talk to Ethan real quick." I say, giving Astor a small smile.

I pull Ethan to the side and look at him.

"Thoughts?" I ask.

"I don't know. I mean I'm down in some ways but I don't have a room for him."

"I'll sleep on the couch." I say.

"That's not-" I cut Ethan off.

"I don't care. He's my nephew. I care about him."

"Okay. I'm for it. The concern was mainly in the spacing. We aren't raising him really." Ethan nods.

We walk back to my mom and Astor.

"We're down." I smile.

Astor jumps and pulls us into a hug, mumbling thank yous.

"As for the second part.. I may have bought you guys a house." My mom gives us a nervous smile.

"A what?" I ask.

"A house. It's still in Seattle. About twenty minutes from a hospital and ten from a high school. It has five bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it is a little pricey but you know us." She rolls her eyes at the end.

My eyes water.

"So what happens to my old apartment?" Ethan asks.

Just then Nadine and Matthew walk up.

"You better thank us. I ended up on that little belt thing to get your suitcase off. I almost ended up in the room thing." Nadine looks at me, annoyed.

"We give it to them?" I suggest.

"Give what to who." Matthew smiles.

"My old apartment. To you guys. Two bedroom, one bathroom." Ethan smiles.

"You don't have to do that Ethan." Nadine looks at us, almost teary eyed.

"I do. We're going to be in a house. So you guys take the apartment." He smiles.

"Who's that." Matthew points to Astor.

"This is my nephew, Astor. We're taking him in." I smile.

"Ah. Nice to meet you my dude." Matthew smiles a little.

Astor rolls his eyes but smiles.

"Alright. Key exchange. Get things, and people into cars and lets go." My mom says.

"Cars?" I ask.

There are six people. My mom has a Toyota which has five seats. Makes sense. Two cars.

"Ms. Ezell is here with Juliet. They wanted to wait in the car to avoid chaos." My mom smiles.

"Alright. How are we splitting up." Ethan says quickly, clearly eager to see his mom and sister.

"You take Astor and I'll take Nadine and Matthew?" I ask.

"Sure. We can meet at our new house?" Ethan asks.

"Sure." I smile.

My mom hands Ethan the new house key.

"They're in parking lot D. I think in the third row. If you have any issues, I'm sure you can call." My mom smiles.

Ethan nods and walks off with Astor and his suitcase.

We begin walking off too, in the opposite direction.

"So what's going on between you two?" My mom asks, a smirk on her face.

My face quickly goes red.

"Nothing mom. We're just friends. He just got out of an insanely toxic relationship. Which from an outsiders point of views its basically a jealous ex murdering the new boyfriend." I whisper the last sentence.

"Oh please. You can see there's something happening. The chemistry is still there. You have to fill me in on the tea." She smiles.

I gag.

"Please never repeat that." I look at her disgusted

"Your mom is pretty rad." Nadine smiles.

"At least someone thinks so." My mom smiles at her.

We shove our luggage into the trunk and get in.

"So where's the apartment?" Matthew asks.

"Not too far from here. I don't really know how to describe it." I look back at them.

They nod.

We all fall into a comfortable silence, unsure of what to say. We don't talk about the fight, August, how we feel, or anything else. Those things don't seem to matter anymore. What matters is getting home safely, unpacking and being happy. Living our lives surrounded by our family and friends. I intend to do just that.

We arrive at the apartment and I remain quiet. It feels like forever ago, though it wasn't. It was forever ago I properly lived with Ethan. It was forever ago I lived with him in hits building. Realizing I like him. Wanting to cuddle. Wanting to be together. It was all forever ago.

"Are you coming?" Nadine asks.

I realise they had already gotten out and grabbed their luggage.

"Yeah. Sorry." I mumble and get out of the car.

Following up the stairs, my mother hands Matthew the key and he unlocks the door, letting themselves inside. It remains furnished. It remains spotless. Untouched. Unforgettable.

But I'm antsy to get home. Home. With Ethan and Astor. My home. Who lives with their crush? No one. Past me would think I'm insane. A maniac. But I look forward to it. To see him. His eyes lit up in amazement.

"We should go now." I say quickly.

"Yeah. We should unpack." Matthew yawns.

"And take naps." Nadine smiles.

We all hug and say our goodbyes before I race down to the car, beating my mother.

"Someone's in a hurry." My mother chuckles.

"I want to see the house." I say.

Its partially true. I do want to see the house. But I also want to see Ethan looking at the house. And Ethan in general.

"Are you sure you aren't looking forward to see a certain someone?" She smirks.

"Astor? Of course. We need to bond." I play it off some more.

"Uh-huh" My mother rolls her eyes.

In a matter of ten minutes we arrive at the house.

It's large, to say the least. Two stories, a decent front yard and of course a wrap around porch. It's not as big as the house my mother and father live in but its certainly larger than an apartment complex.

I race up to the front door, forgetting about my luggage and I burst through the front door.

"Welcome home!" Astor smiles.

"It's so big!" Ethan practically yells.

"It's adorable." I smile, though I'm mostly talking about the two of them.

"I'm so happy. This is amazing!"

My mom walks in with the luggage.

"Thanks for the help, brat." My mom looks at me.

"You haven't called me that since I was like five." I whine.

"Well it's very fitting." She crosses her arms.

"Well. Thank you. For bringing in my luggage. And the house. We really appreciate it." I smile.

"Of course. Just wait until you see the garage." She winks.

"Mom. A car?" I look at her with wide eyes.

She's spending way too much money.

"I had to. You guys can't walk places anymore."

"Thank you." I say sympathetically.

I feel awful that she's spent so much.

"It's no problem. Anyways. I've got to get home. Dinner for your father isn't going to cook itself." She rolls her eyes.

Ethan, Astor and I hug my mom and she leaves.

I look over at Ethan and Astor as they start talking about how we should furnish the house and I smile to myself. This is all I could ever ask for.

A/N

I say I'm on a streak with uploading.

I have an exciting, maybe short chapter for Chapter 19. I may do a chapter 20, I'm not sure yet. But either one or two more chapters before the Epilogue and maybe a bonus chapter and then this series is done. )):
