Chapter 100
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Millie handed the first slice of cake to Claudia before dividing the rest of the cake.
âOnce she was done, she picked up a slice of the cake and went to Marcus.
âHoney, have some cake.â
Marcus ignored the cake and stared at her, trying to figure out where she was all this time.
Derek searched everywhere and couldnât find her, only for her to show up out of nowhere at the right time.
âWhere were you?â He voiced his thoughts.
Millie was quite the good actress, and she put up a good act with Claudia. However, Marcusâ keen eyes didnât miss the dust on
her skirt.
He looked down at her hand holding the cake and also noticed the cut on the base of her palm.
Without looking up at Marcus, Millie answered, âI listened to you and hid so you wouldn't be ashamed of me.â
Marcus gritted his teeth.
Why couldn't she try to be nice for once? He was genuinely worried earlier.
âAnd where exactly did you go and hide yourself? Derek searched everywhere for you and couldnât find you. And that cut on your
hand? How did you get it?â
Marcus grabbed her hand angrily.
Millie withdrew her hand from his quickly and lifted her chin proudly.
âDonât worry about it. You won't believe anything | tell you anyway. So why bother telling you?â
âJust spit it out, Millie!â Marcus was getting increasingly annoyed. It seemed that Millie didnât have any trust in him at all.
âFine! You want to know what happened? Here it is. | listened to you and went to the lounge, but Rhea came in after me with her
two lackeys to beat me up. | managed to drive them away, but they locked me inside and turned off the lights.
Locked in the darkness, | had to break the window to get out and come here in time.
Thatâs how | got hurt.â
The lounge was far from the banquet hall, and with its thick doors, no one could hear her when she hit the door. She knocked on
the door so many times that her hands got swollen. Still, no one heard her.
She had to find a way to get out. If she stayed there until the party was over, no one would find her. So, she pushed the table in
the room under the window, stood on it and broke the window, creating enough room for her to get out through it.
âIs that what really happened?â
