Chapter 1058
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
âMr. Thomas, you wanted to see me?â
Trenton, only 26 and a graduate of a prestigious military academy, was known for his quick actions,
clear mind, and fluency in four languages.
Marcus gestured to the contracts.
âTake these to the secretary department.â
âYes,â Trenton answered, taking the documents.
He was nearly out the door when Marcusâ voice stopped him.
âYou will take over Derekâs position from now on.â
Trenton turned, his face a picture of shock and bewilderment. He was replacing Derek?
But why wasnât Derek at the company today? Despite his confusion, Trenton kept his composure.
âYes, thank you for the opportunity, Mr. Thomas. I will do my best,â he answered, gratitude ringing in his
voice.
Around noon, as Millie exited the Thomas Group, Grace hurried over and linked arms with her.
They entered a dessert shop and settled down. Graceâs curiosity was palpable.
âMillie, about that day⦠Was it all just a misunderstanding?â
Seeing as Millie was in good spirits, Graceâs worry seemed to ease.
She suspected that the incident from that day might not have been as dire as she initially thought.

Resting her chin on her hand, Millie grinned brightly.
âWell, it was indeed a misunderstanding. The villa belongs to Harlan.
The attractive woman you mentioned has an interest in Harlan, not Marcus. And as for why Marcus
returned so late that night, it wasnât to meet a mistress. He genuinely had an important matter to attend
to.â
Grace felt a pang of guilt upon hearing this.
If not for her hasty actions, Millie might not have been plagued by worries of Marcus being unfaithful
and her own misconceptions.
Grace clasped Millieâs hand, expressing her heartfelt apology.
âMillie, Iâm truly sorry. I let my emotions get the best of me. I called you and uttered baseless
accusations before I knew the truth.
I must have caused you a great deal of distress.â
Millie shook her head and reassured her, âDonât worry. I understand your concern about me being
deceived.â
