Chapter 1106
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
âCheers.â Marcusâ gaze lingered upon the bashful beauty nestled in his embrace.
Millie lifted her visage and gently clinked her glass against his.
âFeed me,â he requested playfully.
Halting her motion to retract the glass, Marcus intervened.
Millieâs cheeks flushed with a rosy hue as she nodded, a delighted smile gracing her lips.
Their synchronized movements elevated their arms, each offering the other a taste of wine from their
respective glasses.
Subsequent to their shared gesture, Millieâs countenance took on a deeper shade of crimson,
prompting her to hide her face within the shelter of his chest.

Resting against the chairâs support, Marcus savored his wine with deliberate slowness.
âHoney, was I truly the first to stir love within you?â she queried, curiosity tinged with a hint of
playfulness.
She perceived his aptitude for flirtation with a knowing smile.
âBefore you, I hadnât experienced love. I am rather selective, you see. Meeting you earlier would have
been quite fortuitous,â he admitted with a hint of wistfulness.
Pinching her cheek gently, Marcus playfully reassured, âNever doubt your husbandâs capabilities. Some
things are learned without formal instruction.â
Millie let out a playful grunt of mock displeasure.
âMeeting you earlier? Werenât you the one who once wished to throttle me?â
âI was misguided. But havenât I made reparations?â he retorted with a warm smile. Lifting Millieâs chin
with a tender touch, he claimed her lips in a gentle kiss.
âWhy have you forsaken your hairpin?â he inquired with a trace of curiosity.
Setting aside his glass, Marcus delicately threaded his fingers through her long, straight, ebony hair.
âItâs quite valuable, and I fear losing it, so Iâve kept it safe in my jewelry box,â she explained, her voice
tinged with a hint of caution.
âAlright, Iâll wear it later,â she conceded, a hint of acquiescence in her tone.
After their lips parted, Marcus released Millie and said, âGo put on your hairpin, and letâs go out for a
walk.â
Millie headed upstairs to fasten her hairpin and then joined Marcus in the car. She had assumed that
when he said âgo out for a walk,â they would stay nearby. However, as the car drove further and further
from home, she realized his plans were more adventurous.
âWhere are we going?â she inquired, her curiosity piqued.
âHow about hiking?â Marcus proposed.
The idea appealed to Millie. Hiking would be invigorating, allowing them to breathe in the fresh air and
clear their minds.
