Chapter 1215
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
âMr. Thomas, Mrs. Thomas, Iâm so sorry for my daughterâs behavior. I apologize for any trouble she
may have caused.â
Millie shook her head, offering a reassuring smile.
âNo need to worry.
Sheâs just a child.â
âThank you. Iâll take her for a snack.â
The girlâs mother promptly led her away, leaving Millie to let out a relieved sigh.
âWhy did you have to look so stern and make the poor child cry?â
Left with no real answer, Marcus guided Millie towards the beach.
âYou obstinate woman, why must you always school me? Donât you realize that girl could be your rival
in love? Youâre being too careless. Imagine if I were spirited away by another woman; I doubt youâd
even notice.â

Millie took a deep breath, her voice laced with sarcasm.
âOh yes, that three-year-old child is a real threat to our love. Donât be so full of yourself. In twenty
years, youâll be an old man, and sheâll be a lovely young lady. By then, she wonât give you a second
glance.
And if youâre not as handsome when youâre old, I certainly wonât want you either.â
Marcus scowled. Millie was getting cheekier by the day. Now she even had the audacity to say when
he wasnât handsome she didnât want him around anymore.
Motioning to the pristine pool beside them, Marcus playfully warned, âWhat if I toss you in there?â
Millie touched her delicate chin, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
âYou seem eager to apologize over a bed of durian spikes when we get home. Iâll make sure to pick up
a large durian later.â
Marcus responded, half-exasperated, half-amused, âYouâre a handful, you know that?â
Millie retorted, âNah, Iâm not the handful here. Youâre completely whipped. Cross me in the future, and
youâll find yourself kneeling on a durian.â
Marcus eased into a beach chair shaded by a sun umbrella.
âYou should seek out some shade, or youâll regret it later.â
Taking his advice, Millie felt the perspiration on her nose and sensed her skin start to prickle. She
hastily sat down beside him under another sun umbrella and uncapped a water bottle to rehydrate.
It would take weeks for her complexion to recover if she got too sun -kissed.
Elsewhere, under a pergola adorned with budding flowers, Mylo folded his arms and leaned against a
pillar. His eyes followed Judie, who was gently swaying on a swing.
âI have some free days next week. Iâm thinking of a trip to Mirror Sea for a couple of days. Care to
join?â
