Chapter 1221
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
In the afternoon, Millie reached the hospital in the countryside.
From the doctor, she gleaned that her grandmother had been struck by a motorcycle, resulting in a
fracture. During the surgery, a plate had been affixed to the broken bone.
Sitting by her grandmotherâs bedside, Millie grasped her hand as if to give her grandmother some of
her own strength.
âJoan, what about the person who did this? Did they apprehend him yet?â
Joan shook her head in response.
âNo. The moment he hit your grandma, he fled the scene. I tried chasing him, but he managed to
escape. I was out in the field gathering vegetables, and your grandma was talking to me when the
motorbike hit her. Then he sped away.â
Frowning, Millie asked, âDo you think the guy did it on purpose?â
After pondering for a moment, Joan replied, âPerhaps. There were no other vehicles on the road, yet he
veered straight toward the side of the road.â
Millie clenched her fists, her anger ignited by the manâs callous actions against her grandma.
âDo you remember the license plate number of the motorcycle?â
A N G E L A âs L I B R A R Y
Distressed, Joan shook her head and replied, âNo, I was in a hurry to save your grandma. I didnât have
time to think of anything else.â
Millie pondered, wondering who would intentionally harm her grandmother. The old woman was known
for her kindness and had no conflicts with anyone in town.
She then resolved to contact the police to identify the culprit. She wouldnât allow her grandmotherâs
accident to go unaddressed.
Turning to Joan, Millie inquired about the time and location of the motorcycle incident. The rural area
had limited cars and surveillance cameras, but due to ongoing development, important roads were now
monitored, offering hope of identifying the responsible party.
While they were talking, Roland approached them.
âMillie, youâre back.â
Upon learning of Millieâs return, he went here to see her.
Millie glanced at him and then shifted her gaze to his injured leg.
âRoland, howâs your leg? Has it healed yet?â
âOh, itâs feeling much better. I heard about your grandmotherâs accident. If I catch the person
responsible, Iâll make sure they regret it.â Roland drew closer and glanced at the old woman resting on
the bed.
âAre you planning to involve the police? There is a police officer in town, Tobin Nicolas, with whom I am
very close. If you need to call the police, Iâll call him right away.â
Millie nodded and said, âThank you.â
Half an hour later, Tobin arrived, taking out his notebook to make notes.
âThe incident occurred around six oâclock in the evening, involving a motorcycle. It took place at Zaire
Pass and the culprit was headed towards Walbrzych.â
