Chapter 1255
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
âFreyja, that wonât be possible. Iâm in the countryside right now.
But tell grandmother that I will come and see her as soon as I return to Preagend.â
Freyja frowned in confusion.
âWhy are you in the countryside? Is there something you need to take care of there?â
âMy grandma had a car accident. I had to come back and take care of her.â
âOh my God! Is she alright? Shouldnât she be brought to Preagend for treatment?â
âThanks, Freyja, but that wonât be necessary. Itâs better that she stay put than travel. Sheâll be treated in
the countryside for now.â
Claudia who was listening in on the conversation furrowed her eyebrows slightly. Then, she motioned
for Freyja to ask how the accident came about.
Freyja nodded and asked into the phone, âMrs. Thomas, was your grandmotherâs accident actually just
an accident?â
Millie shook her head on the other end of the line.
Angelaâs Library
âIt wasnât.
Someone deliberately hit my grandma.â
âA deliberate act, I see. And who is the culprit? Have they been arrested?â Freyja and Claudia
exchanged a meaningful glance as Freyja kept talking on the phone.
âWe reported the case to the police and the person was caught and arrested. However, the police are
still doing some investigations to find out the mastermind behind it,â Millie explained.
Freyja nodded and said, âPlease take good care of yourself over there.â
Millie smiled softly and asked after Claudia.
âI will. What about grandmother? How is she doing?â
After a small nod from Claudia, Freyja said, âSheâs fine. Donât worry about her.â
After the call, Claudiaâs brows were still furrowed. As soon as Shera returned, Millie had to go to the
countryside. This was no coincidence. It was giving Shera ample time to get closer to Marcus.
ââFreyja, send someone with some high-quality supplements to go and visit Millieâs grandmother in the
countryside tomorrow,â Claudia instructed after a while.
At the Cloud Villa.
Marcus returned home and found Shera standing at the door, hugging her arms to herself. When she
saw Marcus coming, she stared at him with watery eyes, shivering like an injured little deer.
âMarcus, youâre finally back.â
âWhat are you doing here?â Marcus asked coldly, placing his thumb on the fingerprint lock to open the
door.
