Chapter 1367
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
He wanted to see just how she had been taking care of him while he was unconscious.
As the room darkened, Millie closed the window, leaving a small gap for fresh air.
She then returned to Marcusâs side, checking the IV bag to ensure it wasnât empty.
She gently touched his forehead and whispered, âThank goodness! No fever.â
Her gaze then wandered to his handsome face, his well-defined features, and his lips. His lips were
thin, beautifully shaped, sensuous, and alluring.
As she kept staring at his lips, a growing sense of desire emboldened her. She placed her hands on
either side of the pillow, leaned in, and gently planted a kiss on him.
She justified her actions by reasoning that he wouldnât be aware of her kiss while he was unconscious.
Millie was lost in thought, pondering the softness of the manâs lips and the pleasant sensation of their
kiss.
Caught up in her reflections, Millie suddenly realized the man who was supposed to be unconscious
was actually gazing at her with a pair of deep, dark eyes, observing her every move.
âHow are you awake?â she blurted out.
Millie felt a wave of embarrassment as she realized sheâd been caught kissing him. Her head began to
move away.
Marcus, however, used his uninjured hand to gently press against the back of her head, drawing her in
for a deeper kiss.
Feeling the force of his press, Millieâs hand, resting on a pillow, formed a tight fist. The strength of his
kiss and her own sense of shame overwhelmed her.

After the kiss, which seemed to linger for ages, Marcus finally let her go, a slight smile playing on his
Lips.
âI can only feel a kiss thatâs truly intense.â
Millieâs cheeks turned a rosy hue, resembling someone who had applied a touch of blush.
She couldnât contain her embarrassment. âYou⦠rogue.â
Marcus raised an eyebrow playfully. âA rogue, perhaps, but then what are you? A daring thief seizing a
kiss from an unconscious man?â
Embarrassed and flustered, Millie, always conscious of her pride, swiftly retorted, âNo! I was merely
curious about the warmth of your lips. Donât read too much into it. The doctor said youâd be
unconscious for three days. Why are you awake so soon?â
Now, she began to question her memory. Had the doctor mentioned three hours instead of three days?
Could she have confused the two?
She was mortified that her impulsive act of kissing him had been witnessed.
Observing Millieâs vexed and bewildered expression, Marcus couldnât suppress a chuckle. He found her
excuse about testing his temperature amusing and clever.
Gently, Marcus reached out, taking her hand and soothing her tense palm.
âDonât be bashful. As my woman, youâre free to touch and kiss me as you please. In marriage, we
should be candid and transparent with our desires. If thereâs something you want to do, just go ahead,â
he said with a mischievous grin.
