Chapter 155
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Chapter: 155
âWhat have you done to my grandmother? Donât you dare touch her, Mia. I'll kill you!â Millie shouted.
âYou should calm down, Millie. Donât worry, the picture was just to scare you a little. Besides, | just thought | should help your
grandmother. She seems to be in pain even in her sleep. | really want to end her pain, but you know me. Iâm not stupid enough to
risk my freedom from this worthless old hag.â
The joy in Mia's tone as she spoke, was like a dagger piercing into Millieâs sides.
These people were so wicked. They had crossed all boundaries that existed.
âSince | canât do anything right now, Iâve decided to come and visit your grandmother every day. I'll tell her stories too. Do you
think she will like it? Or will she die from it?â
Millie spat out through gritted teeth, âMia, get out of there now! Do it, or I'll send this picture to my lawyer and have you sued.â
âFine, fine, I'll leave... for now. Just keep in mind that you stole the life that was meant to be mine. Iâll make you pay for it for the
rest of your life,â Mia warned threateningly and hung up directly.
The next second, Millie was on the line with Teresa who was supposed to be looking after her grandmother. It was only after
Teresa told her that Mia had been sent out by the security guards that Millie calmed down.
Millie was still shaken from todayâs episode. She even removed a few bodyguards from their posts at home and told them to go
and protect her grandmother in the hospital. She wanted to go to the hospital herself, but Gemma stopped her with good reason.
Her grandmother would only worry if she saw her in this state.
Millie stayed home for the next two days, recovering from her injuries. In these two days, she didnât see any sign of Marcus at
home.
Millie was frustrated, depressed, and was on the verge of giving up. She even hired someone to find out where Leon was, but to
no avail. Leon had decided not to show himself, and her grandmaâs condition got worse by the day. If she didnât have the surgery
as soon as possible, it might be too late later on.
When Bruce entered the room, he stood, baffled at the dejected look on Millie's face.
âWhat's bothering you so much?â he asked, walking towards her.
Millie looked at Bruce, then got up and went to get him a cup of coffee.
Bruce noticed the injuries on Millieâs face and neck. âWhat happened to you?â he asked, taking his coffee from her.
Millie shrugged and lied easily, âI tripped downstairs and fell.â
To her surprise, Bruce believed her immediately and laughed mockingly at her.
âWhat on earth were you doing to stumble down the stairs at your age? Were you sleepwalking or what?â
Millie rolled her eyes and looked away.
Some time after the fun had died down, Bruce smiled happily at Millie and said, âI hate how dejected you look right now.
Wallowing in gloom will only bring you more bad luck. Come on, letâs go some place nice.â
Millie clutched a pillow to her, shaking her head fervently. âI canât go out yet. Iâm not fully recovered. Besides, look at my face
covered in gauze. Iâd better just stay home and take care of my wounds.â
âThat canât stop you from going out. You used to wear a mask and go out every day.
