“Were you scared?” Marcus asked.

Millie shook her head and replied, “No, it’s not that bad.”

“Why didn’t you tell everyone who the culprit is?”

Millie shrugged. “It’s not worth mentioning. Besides, | already scared her off.”

Nancy was the chief jewelry designer at the Thomas Group. If what she did earlier were to become public knowledge, it would

have devastating consequences for the company.

Claudia was kind to her, and Marcus saved her from embarrassment earlier, so she did not want to put the Thomas Group in

jeopardy.

As soon as Millie retumed to her room, she wasted no time getting to work on her design.

Marcus also went back to his room and rested for a while before heading back to the banquet hall for the auction.
