Chapter 409
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Chapter: 409
However, as soon as she returned to the country, she heard some shocking news about the Thomas family, including Millieâs
marriage to Marcus.
Laurel had been enraged when she discovered that Marcusâ wife was the same Millie she knew from the countryside.
âYes, | know her. Sheâs the wife of the Thomas Groupâs CEO. Do you know her, too?â
Nancy made sure to emphasize Millie's identity because she noticed Laurel's disdain for her.
Just as she had anticipated, Laurel scoffed. âYes, and | hate her. When we were still in the countryside, she always put on airs
when she was around me. | didnât think sheâd become a wealthy manâs wife someday.â
It tured out that Laurel and Millie knew each other since they were in the countryside, and judging by her tone, the former clearly
had deep resentment for the latter.
Meanwhile, in the presidential suite, Millie set down her sketch pen and did some light stretching.
The current design she had come up with looked nice, but she was not sure if Mrs. Barton would approve of it. It seemed she
needed to step up her efforts even more if she wanted to win.
With that in mind, Millie straightened up, changed into a different outfit, and stepped out of the room.
She went to the snow-covered garden of the hotel. She picked up a fistful of snow and studied it intently.
âAron, itâs freezing here. Letâs go inside.â
âFreezing? What are you talking about? Iâm burning right now, for you.â
âYou're so naughty. Hey, stop! We're still outside.â
The man inhaled deeply before he asked in a raspy voice, âDonât you know how sexy you are right now? You've been abroad for
years! | canât wait any longer. | want you now.â
Millieâs eyes widened in bewilderment. The garden was a public place, and yet the couple was actually considering making out
there.
The two people entered the garden just as Millie decided to leave.
Laurel noticed someone approaching and immediately pulled the hem of her dress down. âWho's there?â
Millie turned around to leave, but it was too late. Laurel had already recognized her.
âMillie?â
Millie stopped dead in her tracks, and then a look of disbelief crossed her face.
âLaura?â
âI'm Laurel, not Laura. Jesus, are you peeping on us? That's creepy.â
