Chapter 424
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Chapter: 424
The corners of Laurel's mouth twitched in dissatisfaction. âI donât think those judges are qualified to appraise Nancyâs necklace.
They have terrible tastes.â
Finally, the tense atmosphere reached its peak when Simon went to the center again.
âTo our distinguished judges, please cast your votes now by placing a crystal next to your chosen piece of work.â
Under everyoneâs scrutiny, four judges ultimately decided to cast their votes for Millieâs Light in the Dark.
Nancyâs Snow Diamond received exactly one vote.
âThe Light in the Darkâs enigmatic color scheme completely hypnotized and inspired me.â
âWhile | do like Nancyâs design, | find myself drawn more to Millieâs Light in the Dark.â
âThe Light in the Dark is simply remarkable. Itâs a work of art in its own right. | was blown away by it the moment | saw it.â
Afterward, Simon declared enthusiastically, âCongratulations to Millie! Her Light in the Dark won with four votes. Itâs a complete
and total victory!â
The crowd then erupted in roaring applause.
For a moment, Millie appeared to be in a trance. Did she actually win? Did she really defeat Nancy?
Truthfully, she was not one hundred percent confident in her victory up until the moment the votes were counted. It was because
Nancyâs Snow Diamond was very impressive, too.
Mrs. Barton got to her feet, went over to Millie, and gave her a warm hug.
âCongratulations! You really are one of a kind; you're very talented. Your Light in the Dark is a very captivating piece of art. Iâm
going to buy it,â Mrs. Barton declared with an approving smile.
She was taken aback by the younger womanâs performance. Her original plan was to get Nancy to come down off her high horse
while also providing Millie, a lesser-known jewelry designer, a chance to compete against established names in the industry, with
the hope that she would leam quickly and improve dramatically.
As for Nancy, Mrs. Barton did not like how conceited she was, so she made her compete with someone less well-known to
humble her. It was for her own good, too.
People who thought highly of themselves never succeeded, after all.
However, the result took everyone by surprise. As things stood, it was clear that Millieâs potential as a jewelry designer was
limitless.
Millie replied humbly, âMrs. Barton, | owe this chance to prove myself to you.â
Mrs. Barton let go of Millie and walked up to Marcus, who stood up from his seat, and smiled brightly at him.
âMr. Thomas, Iâm sure your companyâs designers are all talented, but | think they could use some improvement. | donât want to
sound biased, but you should really consider Millie. Sheâs incredibly gifted.â
Triggered by the statement, Nancy felt her cheeks heat up. At that moment, she wanted nothing more than for the ground to
open up and swallow her whole.
