Chapter 468
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Chapter: 468
Strangely enough, Millie admired how these high-class women fought and exchanged words, hitting each other just where it hurt.
Millie thought she had heard enough. She rushed forward with the tray. âMom, Aunt Thomas, please have some tea.â
Millie hurriedly placed it on the table and left before Madisonâs glare drilled holes through her.
When she returned to the tea room, Claudia was gone. Freyja had helped her to the bedroom to take her medicine.
After setting the tray on the table, Millieâs eyes fell on the man standing in the garden outside. She looked attentively and saw
that it was Leon. He took out a cigarette and lit it, before taking a deep drag.
Millie frowned at this. He looked rather unhappy. She thought he was fine after his display of affection for Lois in front of
everyone.
Millie recalled the wonder drug he got for her grandmother. She wanted to thank him but hesitated a little before finally deciding
to go.
However, as soon as she got to the garden and was about to approach Leon, she heard a womanâs voice not far away.
âSo, this is where youâre hiding.â That was Loisâ voice.
Hearing her voice, Leon quickly extinguished the cigarette he had just lit.
Lois smiled, moved by his gesture. He had never put out his cigarette so promptly before upon seeing her.
Lois got to him and fell into his arms, hugging him. She could feel how lonely and empty he felt and wanted to offer him some
comfort.
However, she didnât know why he was so upset. Perhaps it was because of the pressure he was under. She knew he had great
ambitions and was pushing himself to get there. With Marcus being at the top, he wasnât feeling very confident too. If he hadnât
missed the opportunities that presented themselves, he would be the CEO of Thomas Group today, not Marcus.
âWhatâs wrong?â
She leaned her head against his chest gently. Leonâs first instinct was to push her away, but he held back and left his hand
suspended in mid-air. After a brief pause, he let his hands fall.
Lois continued in a low voice, âYou know, | thought | would never see you again. | thought | was going to die. Then, you took care
of me today in front of your family.
It made me very happy.â
Lois had noticed a great change in Leon since she woke up. He visited her in the hospital every day, and although he didnât say
anything, his actions spoke for themselves.
âPromise me that you won't do something so impulsive again,â Leon said, patting her on the back.
Millie witnessed all of this in stunned silence. Clearly, Leon was starting to fall for Lois. Her persistence had paid off after all.
Suddenly, Lois lifted her head, stood on her tiptoes and leaned in to kiss Leon.
Millieâs eyes went wide. She quickly turned around and ran away in hurry.
