Chapter 482
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Chapter: 482
Guiding Millie to the car, Marcus and she sat dampened within the vehicle.
After turning on the carâs heater, Marcus ignited the engine, his grip firm on the steering wheel as he navigated a turn.
âWe're leaving? Shouldn't we bid farewell to Grandma?â Millie asked.
âWe donât have to. We'll be back frequently to visit her.â
Millie wondered if it was really okay to do that.
After a brief pause, a realization dawned on her.
âWait a moment. We canât depart just yet. Is your mother still in the old house? We must take her along,â she suggested.
Celeste had accompanied them in the same car. Abandoning her without transport wasnât a viable option.
âSomeone will arrange her transportation,â Marcus informed her.
While driving with one hand, he dialed the driver from the old residence with the other.
As two beams of light swept through the window and the engine roared to life, Celeste sensed an air of disarray. She rose and
ventured into the courtyard to inspect the scene.
The rain obscured her view, leaving Celeste in near darkness. Turning to a recently arrived servant, she inquired, âIt's rather late.
Who would visit this place at this time of the night?â
The servantâs astonishment upon spotting Celeste was palpable, questioning her lingering presence.
âMrs. Thomas, itâs Marcus Thomas and his wife departing. Didnât you accompany them?â
âWhat?â Celeste exclaimed in distress.
âDamn it! Why would he sneak away and leave me behind?â
In the living room, onlookers exchanged glances, taken aback by Celesteâs outburst.
Celesteâs visage darkened, and she silently cursed Marcus.
Claudia was on the verge of summoning the driver for a return trip when he approached, his tone respectful.
âMrs. Celeste Thomas, Mr. Marcus Thomas requested that | retum you later.â
As Celeste returned from the old residence, Bria promptly retrieved an umbrella and ventured out to meet her.
âMrs. Thomas, you've returned. Why didnât you return with Sir Marcus and Millie? Did they lack space in the car?â
