Chapter 502
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
âWhat did you put in it?â Millie asked.
In all seriousness, Mia declared, âItâs a poison that, once taken, you'll never be able to conceive a child of your own.â
âIs this poison really that potent?â Millie inquired.
âOf course. My uncle concocted it. It damages a woman's uterus. If you send the money to me right now, we'll spare you from
being an incomplete woman,â Mia threatened.
Millie lowered her head and stared icily at the floor.
To use such a lethal poison on a human being just showed how cruel they were.
âHow would you save me if | already consumed it? Do you have an antidote?â Millie touched her stomach in a concerned
manner.
âTransfer the money to me, and we'll get you to my uncle right away. He has the antidote,â Mia replied.
âI see,â Millie muttered.
They would take her to the hospital if she wired them the money. Millie scoffed to herself. Did they seriously expect her to believe
that? She knew that this was just one of Giannaâs ploys.
Abruptly, Mia realized that something was not right. Millie looked worried just a few moments ago, but now, she could not find
any trace of fear on her face.
She looked completely at ease.
Her calm demeanour baffled Mia.
She could not help but ask, âAre you not afraid at all?â
âWhy should | be afraid?â Millie asked.
âMillie, you'll lose everything you have and won't be able to produce a child of your own. You could adopt a child from an
orphanage if your husband was a member of an ordinary family, but the Thomases are anything but that. They'll never allow you
to give their last name to a child who doesnât carry their blood, and they'll kick you out the moment they find out that you canât
produce an heir for them,â Gianna pointed out.
Millie walked over to the dresser, picked up the white feather on it, and waved it.
â| know itâs unfortunate and devastating for women to lose their ability to conceive a child, but | couldnât care less about that. |
can still have children, so Iâm not worried.â
As if on cue, Mia suddenly brought a hand to her stomach when she felt a twisting sensation inside. What happened? She did
not remember consuming any potentially contaminated food.
Also, why was Millie acting like nothing happened? She should be the one experiencing abdominal discomfort right now.
âMia, are you alright?â Gianna asked worriedly.
âI'm fine. My stomach is just hurting a bit. Mom, tell her to transfer the money to me now. Itâs one billion dollars.â
