Chapter 61
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Chapter: 61
âTake this card. You can buy a new dress for yourself tomorrow. Can you go to bed now?â
Millie picked up the card and observed it thoroughly with a frown. It was a gold card. Impressive. Watching her observe the card
so much, Marcus sneered inwardly.
Now, he understood why she did all this. She played the victim just to get some money.
âIt's really generous of you to give me a gold card. You should hold on to it though. | may not be wealthy, but | won't ask anyone
for money. Iâm not mending this dress because | canât afford one, but because | have never worn it before. | wonât let it go to
waste.â
After weighing the card in her hand for another second, Millie pushed it back towards Marcus who was frowning.
That was the last thing he expected to happen. Clearly caught off guard, he angrily walked away saying, âThe money in there is
just too small to satisfy you, is it not?â
The next second, the room was filled with lights, illuminating the room.
Millie furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
âBut you said you wanted to sleep. | doubt turning on the lights will make that easy.â
Marcus sat on the edge of the bed proudly, his back facing her.
âYou've already ruined my sleep. How do you expect me to get it now?â
Millie stared at his back for a second, then focused on her dress, working faster.
She finally finished an hour later, then looked at the dress with a satisfied smile. No one could have guessed that it was once
tom. The golden flower stood proudly on the chest of the dress and made it even more beautiful.
She glanced at the bed and saw that Marcus lay there and scrolled through his phone.
She couldn't help the guilt that filled her. âYou should sleep,â she murmured, then turned off the lights and settled in on the sofa.
She was so tired that she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
Achilling sensation woke Millie up. It was as though someone was fanning cold at her. She didnât even know what time it was, or
for how long she had slept.
With a sneeze, she sat up and looked towards the floor-to-ceiling window. She mentally facepalmed. No wonder she was cold.
Who the hell left it open?
Annoyed, she got up and went to close the window.
Before she completely closed it, something eerie happened. A hand suddenly shot out of nowhere and grabbed her wrist. She
froze on the spot in fear, as the hand was followed by a white figure.
Millie was so scared that she staggered back and almost fell to the floor, lost a slipper and still tried to run away, screaming at the
top of her lungs.
âAhh! A ghost! Help! Help!â
