Chapter 635
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
âItâs not that hot. Letâs stay here and chat a while longer.â
Mylo had developed a fondness for Brenna, and his patience with her remained abundant.
âMillie, donât worry. I donât hold a grudge about the scar on Brennaâs forehead caused by you. Itâs all in
the past. Iâm not holding it against you, and Brenna said the same,â Mylo reassured.
A gleam sparked in Millieâs eyes, sharpening her gaze. Brenna had told Mylo that she was responsible
for the scar on her forehead. Yes, that was trueâshe had caused it.
However, Brenna must have concealed the true story behind the incident.
If Brenna hadnât orchestrated a confrontation, humiliated her, and insisted on removing her mask, Millie
wouldnât have accidentally pushed Brenna against the door amid the chaos.
Casting a glance at Marcus, Millie noted his icy countenance. It seemed he had already been informed.
Millie narrowed her eyes slightly and remarked, âIndeed, Iâm starting to feel hot. Iâll head inside.â
Later, Millie observed that Rhea, who usually relished being the center of attention, was conspicuously
absent. Evidently, she had departed early.
Brenna stepped away from Myloâs side and observed Millie. She noticed Marcus engrossed in
socializing while Millie mostly stood alone during the gathering.
Brennaâs confidence grew. She had heard that Myloâs relationships typically didnât last, yet she had
remained with him for a significant duration, with no signs of his patience waning. Perhaps she was a
unique exception.
If she could become the mistress of the Barrett family, a life filled with luxury and indulgence would
await her. With this thought in mind, she cast a disdainful gaze down upon Millie.
Throughout the evening, Marcusâ affections for Millie seemed scarce.
After conversing with someone, Mylo made his way towards the restroom. Millie lightly tapped her
glass, placed it down, and followed suit to the restroom.
As anticipated, Millie was in the restroom, adjusting her attire. Just then, Brenna entered the restroom.
She nonchalantly took out her lipstick, dabbing on makeup while her gaze remained fixed on Millie in
the mirror.
Millie let out a cold smirk and spoke first.
âI suggest you visit a beauty clinic soon to get rid of the scar on your forehead. Mylo is a choosy
playboy, and that scar of yours will surely repel him.â
These words struck a nerve with Brenna. She pressed the lipstick with uneven force, causing it to
break.
If only she could remove that scar, she would have done so long ago. However, the scar ran too deep
to be fully eradicated.
âYouâre talking nonsense. He only has eyes for me now, and that wonât change in the future. He even
said that my scar on my forehead doesnât mar my beauty. On the contrary, he pities me for it,â Brenna
retorted, attempting to defend herself.
âAh, so he treats you well. But Iâm curious: how did you explain the origin of your scar to him? Did you
tell him that I, out of extreme hostility and without provocation, pushed you against the door? Or did you
reveal the truth, that you rallied a group of people to corner and assault me, and in the midst of the
chaos, I accidentally pushed you against the door?â
âIâm not naive. Of course, I wouldnât reveal the real reason. I told him that you were envious of my
beauty and sought to ruin me; hence, you pushed me into the door, resulting in this scar.â
