Chapter 651
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Chapter: 651
However, she managed to wrest Marcusâ hand free with all her might.
The pain from pinching the wound must have been intense. Marcus didnât decline her offer. In a boss-
like manner, he instructed Millie to take care of it on her own.
âIf you intend to examine the wound, lend me a hand by assisting me in removing my coat. My mobility
is limited.â
Even though Millie displayed a slight pout, she proceeded to carefully remove his coat.
Marcus felt a sense of contentment. When had Millie grown so gentle? Since the encounter with the
divorce agreement, she had consistently treated him with coldness.
Considering this, Marcus couldnât help but smile. The pain from his wound seemed. worthwhile as it
allowed him to experience Millieâs care for him.
As she held Marcusâ coat, Millie noticed that the white shirt underneath was stained with blood. An
inexplicable pain tugged at her heart.
âThe wound is bleeding. It needs to be bandaged again. Letâs go inside. Iâll help you with the
bandaging,â Millie insisted.
Marcus glanced at the bleeding area and shook his head. âIt doesnât matter. We can bandage it when
we go back.â
âThis needs to be taken care of promptly, or you might get an infection,â Millie persisted.
Seeing how anxious Millie was, her face turning red, Marcus patiently explained,
â[âve used a special medicine for the wound that I donât have here. Regular medicine wonât work. The
wound hasnât fully healed yet, so some bleeding is normal. If I bandage it now, Grandma will get
worried.â
Millie fell into silence. His explanation made sense, even though she knew he would have to endure
more discomfort.
Changing the subject, Marcus asked, âDo you like this lotus pond? Thereâs one in every Thomas family
villa because Grandma believes the lotus symbolizes family prosperity.â
No wonder there was a lotus pond in Marcusâ villa too. It was his grandmotherâs sentiment.
Millie nodded, saying, âYes, I like it. The lotus leaves are big and green, and the flowers are beautiful.
Itâs very calming to look at.â
âYouâre more beautiful than any flower.â
Out of the blue, Marcus uttered sweet words.
Taken aback, Millie tumed to him, finding him looking at her as well.
Her heart raced, and she quickly shifted her gaze to the lotus pond.
Marcus chuckled. It seemed like saying sweet things wasnât as awkward as he thought.
As darkness set in, they returned to the community where Millie lived. Marcus had been resting in the
villa for the past few days, but he hadnât been sleeping well.
