Chapter 679
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
Millie shook her thoughts away, replying, âThank you for helping me earlier. I must go now.â
She started to walk away, and Bruce trailed behind, hands in pockets.
âLetâs go together.â
âTogether?â Millie questioned, puzzled at his sudden interest.
âIâm intrigued by how Marcus can stand living in such a cramped rental with you every day. I want to
see what enchantment youâve woven over him,â Bruce said, a playful smile tugging at his lips.
âBesides, I heard Leonâs been visiting that community daily for a girl. Thatâs intriguing. I must
investigate.â
Upon reaching the community, they encountered Fiona, who was on her way out.
Fionaâs appearance had grown increasingly ostentatious. The cost of her attire was anything but
modest. Leon must have been investing heavily in her.
Upon spotting Millie, Fiona removed her sky-blue sunglasses and looked past her.
Where were the two individuals who were supposed to harass Millie? She had paid them specifically to
do so.
Millie caught Fionaâs searching gaze and responded with a knowing sneer.
âIâm confident that those two wonât have the courage to follow me again.â
Bruce, noticing the well-dressed woman before him, asked Millie, perplexed, âAre you speaking to her?
Do you know her?â
Fiona grasped Millieâs insinuation but kept her composure. While unafraid that Millie would discover her
scheme, she would never confess to it.
âWhat are you talking about? I donât get it,â she said, feigning ignorance.
Bruceâs eyes narrowed, his fingers lightly touching his chiseled chin. âMillie, did she send those two to
bother you?â
Fionaâs guilt showed in her eyes as she prepared to leave, but Millieâs voice stopped her.
âWait a moment. If you try something like this again, youâll find me teaching you a lesson in kind.â
Barely concealing her anger, Fiona made a hasty exit.
Bruce shook his head, remarking, âWho is that woman? Her dressing is so garish.
Why is she trying to antagonize you?â
âSheâs the one youâve come to see,â Millie replied, her tone flat.
