Chapter 734
Substitutee Marriage: Fallingg For My Ugly Wifee
âYouâve energized me by cooking such a feast of delicious dishes tonight. Does that mean Iâm now
obligated to do something in return?â Marcus teased, his voice filled with playful implication.
Huh?
Millie was momentarily baffled. But then, she understood his wicked smile.
âI want to take care of you, especially since youâve been ill before,â Millie said, her cheeks flushing with
color.
Without another word, Marcus leaned in and kissed Millie passionately, cradling her head in his hands.
A wave of dizziness washed over Millie as she surrendered to the kiss, swept away by a sensation that
seemed to come naturally to Marcus.
He then moved to nuzzle her tender neck, his warm breath in her ear as he whispered, âYou smell
amazing.â
Millie remained silent, a sudden warmth spreading through her body. She felt the urge to step outside
for fresh air, but Marcusâ hand held her tightly, keeping her anchored.
âLetâs have a baby,â Marcus said, his voice filled with conviction as he gently touched her belly.
His words took Millie by surprise, causing her to press her lips together in a moment of uncertainty.
âDo you like kids?â she finally asked, her eyes searching his face.
He seemed so cold and unapproachable at times that she wondered if he had any real interest in
children.
âOf course, I like our child. I hope it inherits half of your traits and half of mine,â
Marcus replied, his eyes softening as he spoke.
There was a time when he believed Millie had died in the explosion, and the pain in his heart had been
almost unbearable.
In that moment, he had known without a doubt that he loved her deeply.
Millie couldnât help but burst into laughter at Marcusâ naive comment, completely caught off guard. The
childâs appearance would be determined by genetics, not by his whims or desires. The look of their
baby was something neither of them could predict or control.
âWhy the serious look? Donât you want to have a baby with me?â Marcus asked, his voice carrying a
hint of irritation as he gently pinched Millieâs cheek.
âNo, I love children, but your notion of a child having half of your traits and half of mine is strange,â
Millie replied, laughing softly.
The conversation felt premature. Her eyes sparkled with amusement, conscious of the fact that they
hadnât yet taken that step in their relationship.
As she sat on Marcusâ lap, she felt elated.
âBy the way, Iâll be going to Preagend University in two days. A friend asked me to help him with his
speech there,â Millie said, changing the subject.
