ENGAGEMENT PART 1 -14♡

YEH LAMHA ✅

AUTHOR POV

As srishti was soundly sleeping, wrapped up in her cozy blanket, she felt her phone vibrating on the bedside table. The incessant ringing had been going on for the last fifteen minutes, and she was getting more and more irritated by the second. She finally picked up the phone, without even bothering to check the caller ID. "Hello?" she groggily answered.

"Oye Saru, kha hai tu?"(saru, where are you) a loud, familiar voice boomed on the other end. It was Sneha, Srishti's childhood friend, who had a habit of speaking too loudly.

Srishti's eyes shot open, and she sat up in bed, looking at her phone screen in horror. She had forgotten that Sneha was coming to town and that she was supposed to pick her up from the airport.

Before Srishti could even say a word, Sneha continued, "Nahi Maharani, engagement ke bare mein toh bataana bhool gayi thi, toh ab kya, airport par apni pregnant friend ko lene bhi nahi aayegi?"

Srishti's heart sank as she realized the gravity of the situation. She had promised to be there for Sneha, and she had completely forgotten about it. She quickly got out of bed and started getting ready to go to the airport, all the while mentally scolding herself for her forgetfulness

AT AIRPORT

When Srishti finally reached the airport, she began searching for Sneha. She tried calling her several times, but Sneha wasn't answering. After searching for 15 minutes, Srishti spotted Sneha in the ice cream store, licking her ice cream without a care in the world.

Srishti couldn't help but feel irritated as she approached Sneha. As she called her again, she noticed Sneha look at her phone and cut the call before going back to licking her ice cream.

"Sneha here you are I was searching for you for half an hour"her voice filled with irritation. But Sneha seemed lost in her own world, ignoring Srishti's calls as she continued to savor her treat. Srishti knew that Sneha was a stubborn woman, and her current pregnancy hormones only seemed to exacerbate her obstinacy.

"Come on Sneha, we're going to be late," Srishti said, hoping to get her friend to move. But Sneha simply handed her bags to Srishti and started walking ahead without a word. Srishti let out an exhausted sigh as she struggled to keep up with Sneha's brisk pace while carrying her three bags.

As they walked, Srishti couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration and annoyance towards Sneha. She knew that Sneha's pregnancy hormones were responsible for her behavior, but it didn't make it any easier to deal with. This was going to be a long and arduous day, dealing with the irritable and stubborn Mrs. Angry Bird.

Saru could feel the tension in the air as she closed the car door, trying to apologize to Sneha for whatever had transpired earlier. Sneha, however, remained silent and distant, lost in her own thoughts.

"Sneha, please, look at me. I'm sorry, okay?....... Let's go get some golgappas, your favorite. It'll make you feel better," she said, hoping to entice her friend with the prospect of the delicious street food.

Sneha's eyes lit up at the mention of golgappas, and Srishti knew she had scored a small victory. As they walked towards the nearby street vendor, Sneha's mind was consumed with the thought of biting into the crispy shells filled with tangy water and spicy potatoes. Srishti couldn't help but smile at her friend's excitement, knowing that this was one of Sneha's weaknesses during her pregnancy.

As they ordered their golgappas, Sneha's mood began to lift. The first bite brought a smile to her face, and soon she was devouring them with abandon. Srishti watched as her friend savored each bite, happy to see her in a good mood once again.

Finally, Sneha turned to Srishti and started to speak, her words tumbling out in a stream of consciousness. Srishti was thrilled to see her friend finally opening up and talking, something she had always been good at since they were children.

Sneha's cheeks were soft and chubby, and Srishti couldn't resist pinching them in affection. The two friends laughed and chatted, happy to be together once again, their bond strengthened by the simple pleasure of sharing a plate of golgappa

AAHAN POV

As the first rays of sunlight streamed into his room, Aahan woke up with a huge smile on his face. He couldn't believe that today was finally the day of his engagement with the love of his life, Srishti. His heart was filled with a mixture of excitement, joy, and nervousness as he thought about the beautiful moments that awaited him. Aahan took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and allowed himself to bask in the warmth of the morning sun, feeling grateful for this special day that he had been waiting for so long. With a sense of purpose and determination, he got out of bed, ready to make this day the most memorable one of his life.

Aditya, walked into the room and teased him, "Uth gaye nawaab Aahan aap?" Aahan playfully rolled his eyes and replied, "Nahi bhai vo dekho bed par soo raha hu abhi bhi." he replied playfully, throwing a pillow at his brother.

Aditya laughed and dodged the pillow. "Today's the big day, bro. You ready for your engagement?"

Aahan's smile grew wider as he sat up in bed. "Absolutely. I can't wait to see Srishti and make it official."

Aditya clapped him on the back. "That's what I like to hear. Now get up and get ready. The ceremony starts in a few hours, and we've got a lot to do."

AUTHOR POV

After almost two hours, all the Oberois were finally ready to head towards the engagement hall. As they entered, they were taken aback by the stunning decorations. The hall was adorned with fresh flowers, twinkling lights, and elegant drapes in shades of gold and white. The center stage was decorated with a massive floral arch, with delicate white roses and baby's breath intertwined with greenery. The tables were adorned with crystal vases filled with exquisite flower arrangements, and the chairs were covered in white silk covers with golden bows.

The ceiling was decorated with cascading fairy lights, which created a magical ambiance. The hall was lit up with a warm, golden glow, making everything look so inviting. The aroma of fresh flowers and the delicious food being prepared filled the air.

Every aspect of the event, from the catering to the music, was carefully curated to perfection. The guests were awestruck and couldn't stop praising the impeccable taste and class of the Oberois and Shahs

Aahan couldn't help but smile as he took in the beauty of the decorations. He knew Srishti would be impressed, and it made him feel proud to be able to create such a stunning setting for their engagement

The guests started to arrive one by one, all of them belonging to the elite class of society. Most of them were top businessmen and close family members, carefully selected by Aahan and his family. The event was kept low-key and only those who were personally invited were allowed to attend. The whole affair was planned with the utmost attention to detail, with no expense spared.

To maintain a high level of privacy, the media was kept away from the event, and only a select few photographs were allowed to be taken. Aahan didn't want any unwanted attention or controversy and decided to have a separate reception party for the official announcement of his marriage. The engagement ceremony was meant to be an intimate affair, only for the closest of friends and family. The whole event was a reflection of the elegance and class that the Oberois were known for.

Aahan had been waiting for what felt like an eternity, but finally, his patience had been rewarded. As his beloved wife entered the hall, his heart skipped a beat. She looked absolutely stunning in her red gown and minimal makeup, radiating an otherworldly beauty that made Aahan's heart swell with pride and love.

In that moment, everything around him seemed to come to a standstill. The world faded away, and the only thing that mattered was the woman walking towards him in slow motion. He felt like he was watching a scene from a movie, where time stood still and the focus was solely on the beauty of the person before him.

Aahan had always believed that love had the power to make everything beautiful. As he gazed at his wife, he knew that this was true. The way her dress swayed with every step, the way her hair cascaded down her back in gentle waves. all of it seemed more beautiful to him than anything else in the world.

Srishti had always been the most beautiful woman in his eyes, but tonight, she surpassed even his highest expectations. Aahan felt a rush of emotions, a mixture of love, admiration, and awe, as he watched her draw closer.

AAHAN POV

As she slowly made her way towards the stage, I felt my heart beating faster and faster. I had been waiting for this moment for so long, and now it was finally here. As she approached me, I extended my hand towards her, trying to mask my nerves with a smile. At first, she looked at me shyly, but then gave me her hand with a small smile, revealing her adorable dimples. Her hand fit perfectly in mine, like a glove, and I felt a sense of comfort and familiarity wash over me. As we locked eyes, I could see a mixture of trust and nervousness in her gaze, but I gently squeezed her hand to let her know that I was there for her and that everything would be okay.

"Mrs., aap bahut khubsurat lag rahi hai," I said in a hushed tone, my voice laced with genuine admiration. The words rolled off my tongue smoothly, and I watched as a faint blush crept up her cheeks. It was a beautiful sight to behold, and my heart swelled with affection for her.

Her smile widened, and she looked at me with gratitude in her eyes. At that moment, I knew that my words had made an impact on her. I felt proud that I could make her feel special and loved with just a few simple words. She had an effect on me, and I had an effect on her, and it was a feeling that I never wanted to let go of.

You were the answer I never thought I would find

You're my living proof

Guess the song?

Hey lovelies how are you all
