MYSELF

I woke up from sleep by 4am with anticipation for today, usually I wake up around 5am, but today is exceptional.

After the lost of my parent, I was very fortunate to be taken in by a widowed middle age woman. She took me in as her helper, but as seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks and months goes by, I become the child she never knew she needed. She adopted me legally. She began to call me son and I in return calls he mother.

I lost my parents in an accident at a tender age of 13, mother was on the same root the day the accident happened. After the death of my parent In the hospital, she took me in and Catered for me. I have been with her ever since

"Mother!"

I have been lost in my thought that I didn't here mother call me until she came nocking on my room door.

"Isioma, come down and eat."

"Mother, am coming, let me finish dressing up".

"Bring down your holy oil when coming down."

"Noted mother."

Mother is a Christian and Catholic denomination, she a Sunday Gower, who doesn't joke with the Catholic believe, I respect her that, for every one is free to choose their believe.

Mother was seated when I came down bearing the holy oil, I want over and gave mother a kiss, enquiring how her night was.

Don't judge me if I tell you am a lover African food, it is the best, when you thirst one, you learn to appreciate it. Mother prepared fried yam and egg sauce for me, which I love eaten every morning

"Mother, what did you add in the food today, for it's so delicious. Hmm"

Today will determine a huge turn over in my life, I have a scholarship examination today, that is why mother made me my best dish and added success charm to it as she claimed.

Mother dropped me at the exam center, she didn't go to work today, just to support me, having that at the back of my mind will boost my success.

Oh sorry I didn't not introduce myself. My name is isioma chucks, am 18years of age, am currently heading to brooks university to partake in a scholarship exam, oh yea I'm very intelligent. I can be funny and easy going. I hate to do laundry and I love African food.
