Chapter 1179
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1179
John gave Sherry yet another pill.
Just like the previous pill, she swallowed this one without any resistance and proceeded to finish the entire glass of water before
beginning to nibble at the edge of the glass again.
It took some considerable effort for John to pull the glass away.
There was nothing but a peaceful silence within the room.
It was so silent that John could faintly hear Sherryâs stomach as it growled and demanded for food.
John frowned. 1
After a while, he gently tucked her back into the bed. Then, he went to the entrance and looked for Marlow who was nearby and
ready to provide assistance at any given notice, âGo get some food.â
Marlow nodded agreeably and quickly went away.
Shortly after, he returned with a variety of food, even including some sweet cakes for dessert.
John took the tray and thanked him, âThank you, go get some rest.â
Marlow did not smile but answered in an amiable voice,*
Alright, Master.â
With that, he turned and walked away.
John closed the door and went back to Sherryâs bed.
Some of the food had gone cold since they were leftovers from the cafeteria, but they were still fragrant and undoubtedly
delicious.
He picked up a piece of fried drumstick with a plastic glove and brought it close to Sherryâs nose.
Sherry opened her mouth with her eyes still closed and greedily bit into the chicken like a hungry wolf.
John chuckled upon witnessing this.
That was when Sherry slowly opened her eyes. She seemed rather shocked when her eyes met Johnâs upon waking up.
âUh...â Why was this jerk here?
John folded his arms across his chest and teased her with an amused smile, âSherry, you look like a dog!â.
âScrew you!â Sherry thought. She immediately sat up and snatched the drumstick away, before scowling. Then she asked
indignantly, âWhy are you sneaking around here in the middle of the night? Arenât you supposed to be sleeping?â

I'd come visit you.â Sherry shifted her gaze but did not say anything.
John looked at her and added, âItâs barely been a day since | last saw you, but | didnât expect you to have become like this.â 1
He said this with a wicked smile that seemed to be mocking her.
Sherry glared at him, âWhat's wrong with the way | am now?â John picked up a mirror on the bedside table and turned it toward
her.
Sherry jumped at the sight of the banshee in the mirror before realizing that it was her reflection.
Her hair had a greasy shine to it, perhaps due to a build up of sweat and oil. To make matters worse, her hair was matted and
her bangs stood up like a patch of wild grass.
Additionally, her cheekbones were sunken and pale due to not having eaten anything for the better half of the day.
Her eyes were cloudy and puffy.
She looked horrendous.
Smack!
She threw the drumstick at Johnâs face.
John quickly blocked the flying projectile with the mirror.
The drumstick bounced against the mirror and fell onto the bed.
Sherry quickly grabbed it before it touched the bed so it would not get her bed dirty. Then she immediately turned to John and
yelled at him, âYou're saying that as if youâre not the reason that Iâm in this state, you dog!â.
John placed the mirror back on the bedside table and glanced at the drumstick in her hand. He straightened himself and said
with a coy smile, âGo on and finish it before it gets cold.â
Sherry felt her cheeks burning, âI donât want to eat this crap that you brought me!â
John cocked an eyebrow, âGo ahead and throw it away then.â
Sherry was struck speechless.
She felt the words caught in her throat, then she expressed haughtily, âIâm only eating it because | donât waste food. Be careful |
donât bash your face in!â With that, she took another large bite into the delicious and tender drumstick.
John chuckled. Sherry shouted, âWhat are you laughing at?â She had barely finished chewing the chunk of drumstick so when
she shouted, she ended up spewing out a piece of
meat which launched itself at Johnâs face.
The room was immediately seized with a deafening silence.
