Chapter 1187
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1187 Sherry stood still.
John smiled. âDonât you want to have lunch?â
Sherry sighed. She picked up the teapot and filled his cup with tea.
When the cup was filled , John extended his hand to the air. âBring it to me.â
Sherry wanted to splash the tea onto his face, but for the sake of indulging in the delicious lunch at the employee canteen ,
Sherry carefully passed him the cup full of tea.
John finished it in a few gulps and continued reading the newspaper. Sherry furrowed her brows. He had said earlier that he was
going to work, yet he was reading the newspaper after Shannon left.
As the question continued to baffle her, John demanded,â Another cup.â
Sherry sulked. He really treated her as a servant! Nevertheless, she sighed and poured him another cup of tea.
Some time went by and John showed no intention of leaving, so Sherry asked, âJohn, how much is my pay?â
John looked at her. âWhy are you asking?â
Sherry glared at him. âArenât you going to pay me?â
He curled his lips. âOf course not. | might be a businessman, but | always treat my employees well.â Her eyes glimmered. âThen,
how much are you paying me?â
John looked at her with an enchanting grin. âThe pay will be deducted from the eight hundred million you owe me.â Sherryâs hope
fizzled out, and she choked on her words.
She recovered her composure after a while. Feigning a polite smile, she continued, âI still need to know how much | am getting
monthly.â âItâs not necessary.â John sipped on his cup of tea. âEven if | pay you the highest among all the employees, you still
won't be able to pay me back even if you work here for your entire life.â
A
Sherry was silenced. âWhat an evil tyrant!â
She pursed her lips and looked outside the window.
John glanced at her and then continued reading his newspaper.
The living room returned to silence.
Awhile later, Sherry started to get curious about whether he would leave for work. She asked, âArenât you going to
work? Why are you still here?â
Johnâs gaze turned cold. âDo you want me to leave that much?â
If he left, she could move around freely, so the answer was self-explanatory. After all, there was no way she enjoyed serving him
tea.
However, for some reason, he sounded scary, so Sherry immediately rearranged her words. âI... Itâs just that | am getting tired
from all the standing. If you leave, | can sit down.â
John glanced at her hip and legs that she had injured before. His frosty expression softened a little.
âPour me another cup of tea.â
Sherry pouted but reluctantly poured him another cup of tea.
John finished the cup of tea in one gulp and then got up. He walked towards Sherry all of a sudden, scaring her to falter
backward.
She looked at him cautiously and said, âWhat are you trying to do?â
John continued to approach her.
Sherry was forced to the downward stairs in front of the entrance, and she had to move to the side to avoid falling down.
John glanced at her. He picked up his jacket from the rack by the door and walked out. Before he left, he said, â. Donât think of
leaving early before your schedule is up, or you won't get anything to eat tomorrow.â Sherry pursed her lips.
After he left, she went back to get the plate of snacks and headed out to the yard to enjoy them. She refused to sit in the same
space where he and Shannon sat.
