Chapter 1213 Peter remarked with stark astonishment, “But they seem forged to me.”

Sherry‘s eyes widened.

Mason and Shannon both suddenly grew restless as well. 1

Before they could protest, John announced, “Since they're fake, throw them away then.” “Very well.”

Peter stuffed the stack of cheques back into the envelope and threw it at Mason’‘s feet.

At the very same instant that the envelope hit the ground, Sherry headbutted John’s chin in one ferocious swing

Thump!

John was unprepared and fell over backward.

Sherry seized the opportunity to break free from him, then she turned and ran towards Mason.

She had to get the envelope back!

She had barely taken a step when a crew of bodyguards swarmed her.

She tried to throw her weight against them but instead of

managing to push through them by brute force, she merely bounced off of their bodies. In an instant, she was

seized and arrested by them again.

That was when John pulled her into his arms again.

She turned to him and glared at him, “Let me go or I'll kill you!”

Her eyes were like that of a provoked beast, it seemed like her teeth would grow into fangs at any second. This coupled with the

red mark left on the center of her forehead from her previous headbutt against John’s chin made her look like a feral beast.

She was fierce but nowhere near threatening.

John laughed at the sight of her.

From his rumbling laughter, one could tell that he nevér took her seriously.

Overwhelmed with rage, Sherry aimed at his chin and put her all into another attempt at head—butting him.

Everyone was silent.

All around her was Peter, the bodyguards, and even Mason and Shannon who were made speechless by what they saw. A

collective shock seized the air around them when they saw how bold Sherry was.

Just as soon as Sherry swung her head at John, he suddenly ducked to the side.

Her attempt fell short and hit nothing but the air.

John wrapped his arms around her waist.

Not only did Sherry fail to attack John, but she also ended up throwing herself into his arms.

He rose and pulled her off the ground.

In an instant, she found herself suspended mid-air and propped upon his shoulders.

She suddenly felt dizzy, she must have overexerted herself.

She furiously smacked his back with her tiny fists, “I said let me go! I'll kill you!”

John looked straight ahead and ignored her blank threats. He strode off and carried her out of the living room in the blink of an

eye. “John, let her go! This is illegal and also an immortal act!” Mason yelled after John and tried to chase after him but was

quickly cut off by the bodyguards. 1

Shannon tried to catch up to John as well but was similarly stopped by two bodyguards standing nay the doorway.

All she could do was to shout and plead from a distance,“ John, let her go! She is my sister, | am your wife!” |

Despite her cries, John and Sherry vanished shortly after stepping out into the courtyard.

Shannon‘s eyes were red with equal parts rage and helplessness.

Shortly after that, Peter came up to her. He regarded Shannon with a troubled look before turning to Mason, “Master Brown,

please take the money back. You're a smart man yourself, you should know that all this time, Master Stockton was only holding

the eight hundred million against Sherry so he could keep her by his side. No matter how much money you brought today, he

was not going to budge either way.” With that, Peter handed Mason the envelope he picked up off the ground.

Mason frowned.

Peter sighed and insistently tucked the envelope into his jacket pocket. With that, he turned back to Shannon again and excused

himself politely, “Ma‘am, | have things to attend to and will be taking my leave for now.”
