Chapter 1221
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1221 He continued job-hunting while enduring the insults.
The Stocktons notified every company that was related to his major in Glenchester not to hire him so that they could force him to
go home.
Even though he was the best in his work, no company dared to defy the Stocktons, hence forcing him to resort to labor work.
He tried being a driver and a delivery man and even picked up jobs that he never heard of before. He did all those just so he
could save enough money for a house to marry her.
Although he ran into many competitors from his old days in the process and was even forced to kneel and bow in public, he
would return home with her favorite cake and a smile on his face.
The bittersweet memories finally came to an end when tears rolled down her cheeks.
Choking on her emotions, Sherry found it difficult to breathe. She paused all thoughts, wiped her tears away, and gasped for air.
She had done him wrong back then, so she accepted his scoldings and beatings, but she could not accept that he
continued to do this to her after marrying some other woman as his wife.
After coming out from the front yard, Queenie stormed off to her own place, grumbling, âI'm done! I'm so DONE! I'm not doing
anything for that woman again! If | send her any more food or whatever, I'll spell my name backward!â
Hailey followed behind her, trying to calm her down.â Please take a breather. | don't think Sherry is such a snob.â
Queenie turned around to face her. âEverything about her screams snob! Don't try to defend her, or I'll throw you out!â
Hailey immediately sealed her lips.
Queenie returned to her own house after a while.
However, she turned around to Hailey before going in.â Why didnât you say anything?â
Hailey was rendered speechless. A few seconds later, she said, âSherry might have a foul mouth, but she seems to be a tough
woman. She must have gone through some tough days.â
Queenie exhaled deeply. âIf she can endure hardship, she wouldn't have left my brother for being poor back then.â
Hailey patiently said, âWhen Master John locked her up for a year plus, | was there to take care of her. She ate the plainest food
and sewed until late at night almost every day. She even removed the weeds in the garden at times. That is not how a normal
person should live, and if she could not endure it, she would have begged Master John to release her. But she didnât even once
submit or beg him.â
Queenie raised a brow, âShe never begged my brother? Not even once?â
âYeah. | tried talking some sense into her many times, but she refused to listen.â
Hailey had no idea why Sherry would rather endure all the hardship than submit to Johnâs request and even went as far as
making him mad and arguing with him whenever she had the chance.
Queenie pondered. âMaybe because she doesn't like my brother. She must be thinking of another man. That's why she doesn't
submit to my brother.â
âUnlikely. I've been with her for so long and | never heard her talking about another man.â
âHmph. Then she must love the man so much that sheâs afraid that my brother will punish her. That's why she kept it in her
heart.â A sudden thought rushed to her mind, and she continued, âOh, right, she cheated on my brother before! The man she
loved must be the one she
cheated on my brother with!â
While Hailey did not agree, she did not want to argue either.
Sherry was rarely sincere with her words. She might have claimed that she left John because he was poor back then and
cheated on him, but how much of it was true?
