Chapter 1264
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1264
As John smiled, Odell calmly locked eyes with him. 1
The tense situation only lasted for a few seconds before they indulged in their own cups of tea.
Sylvia got into the car and was on the way out of the Cartersâ residence.
Aunt Wanda had informed her earlier that Sherryâs water just broke, so they should already be at the hospital, ready to deliver.
As the nervousness occupied her thoughts, she missed the text from Odell.
When the car drove past a set of traffic lights, and they were only ten minutes away from the hospital, Sylvia's phone rang. It was
Aunt Wanda.
She answered the phone immediately. âAunt Wanda, how're things?â
âMs. Fowler is in the delivery room, and sheâs been wanting to see you. The doctors also urge her family to be here. Are you on
your way?â
Sylvia answered, âIâm almost at the hospital. Tell her to hold on, and I'll be right there.â
âAlright, I'll convey the message.â
Right when Sylvia hung up the phone, she suddenly saw the text from Odell. A quick glance at the content later, her gaze shifted,
and she nervously looked into the rearview mirror.
She spotted a silver MPV and a couple of cars behind them, and they seemed to have followed them since they left the house.
She clearly remembered that the MPV was Johnâs car from earlier.
Her gaze turned cold. âJacob, the silver MPV behind us is Johnâs. Can you lose it?â
Jacob glanced into the mirror. âI can, but | might have to take a detour.â
A uick hesitation later, she said, âTake it.â
She could not afford to let John find out about Sherryâs location, let alone the fact that she was carrying his baby.
Jacob nodded and made a U-turn after the traffic light.
The silver MPV did not expect Jacob to turn the car around. They tried to catch up with him, but when they finally got out of
traffic, Jacob had already driven the car onto the other lane.
Jacob drove fast and shook Johnâs men off in just two turns.
Ten minutes later, the car finally arrived at the hospital,
where Sherry was admitted.
Sherry carried Isabel out of the car and went to the counter. Several minutes later, they arrived at the delivery room with Aunt
Wanda and Ben pacing anxiously at the entrance. 1
They came up to her immediately, and Aunt Wanda said, â Madam, youâre finally here! Hurry up and go inside!â
Sylvia nodded and brought Isabel into the delivery room.
Sherry was on the delivery bed, panting in pain. The excruciating agony took over her mind, preventing her from thinking
properly.
The abdominal pain piled up over the minutes. She gasped in pain and tears started to trifle down her cheeks. How could it hurt
so much?
She shut her eyes and clenched her teeth as tight as possible.
There were two delivery beds in the room, and on the other one was another mother waiting to deliver. Unlike her own lonely
situation, the other woman had her husband and her own mother by her side.
As the pain hit, the mother started to sob.
Her husband consoled her, âDonât worry. After they give you the epidural, you will be fine. Just bite the bullet and we'll go through
this together. This is the first and the last. We donât need another baby, and Iâll buy you
whatever you want after this! Okay?!â
The man sounded like he was trying to console a child.
The older woman assured, âDonât worry. Iâm here with you too. Iâve been through this once, and | know how it feels. Iâm not going
anywhere!â
