Chapter 1409
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1409
Madam Stockton was staring at Caprice.
John said nothing and handed the girl to his mother.
Madam Stocktonâs eyes lit up, and she
immediately held Caprice like treasure. She stopped telling John to leave the girl at home again.
After a while, they walked into Johnâs yard together.
The house was heated and warm.
Julie subconsciously reached toward John to help him get his coat.
John smiled faintly at her, turned, and handed her the coat. Julie then hung the coat on the hanger beside him.
Madam Stockton held Caprice and sat down on the sofa, staring at the girlâs cute and chubby face with joy.
Seeing this, Julie whispered to John, âJohn, it really will cool down in a few days. Mom likes Caprice a lot. Why donât you leave
her home for a few days? Donât worry. We'll take good care of her.â
John looked at Caprice, who was being held by Madam Stockton. His eyes softened, and he said in a gentle and pleasant voice,
â| know you can take care of her, but she canât live without me for the time being.
âJohn, Caprice canât follow you for the rest of her life. You have many matters to attend to as well, so itâs not good for her to
follow you around all the time.â Julieâs expression changed slightly, and her voice became cautious. âI'll say something you might
not want to hear. A child not only needs the company of their father but also of their mother.â
Johnâs expression instantly turned cold.
Julie did not dare to look at him and quickly said, âWhat | mean is, although her mother wonât come back, thereâs still Mom,
Queenie, and me around. Mom likes her so much, and Queenie is a good aunt. Plus, | canât have a child of my own anymore...
Johnâs eyes flickered, and he frowned at her. â Julie, you...â
âJohn.â Julie raised her head and looked at him with a gentle and sincere expression. âI also really like Caprice. If you leave her
at home, I'll definitely treat her as my own daughter and do my best to take good care of her so that she not only has a fatherâs
love but a motherâs love as well.â
John pursed his lips and smiled at her. â
You're still young. If you want, | can pick a good man in Glanchester for you.
âNo.â Julie frowned, and her face turned serious for a moment. âJohn, | want to stay by
Mom's side to help her and you take care of the family business.â
âOkay.â John did not say anything else in the face of her obstinance and was about to walk away.
âJohn,â Julie hurriedly called him.
John looked at her.
She smiled and asked, âCan you leave Caprice at home for a few days?â
â| know you care about Caprice, but her mother is still in this world. You donât have to worry about Caprice that much.â
Then, he walked toward Madam Stockton and Caprice.
Julieâs face stiffened, and the look in her eyes darkened uncontrollably. More than two years had passed, but he was still waiting
for that woman to return!
The next day, Sherry got up not long after dawn.
She took a car to Stockton Tower in the city.
The security of the building was very strict. She could not go inside since she was not an employee, so she could only hide
behind the wall not far away from the door. She waited for almost two hours in the cold wind before she saw Johnâs car.
After the car stopped outside the entrance, the security guard quickly went forward to open the door.
John carried Caprice and got out of the car.
The little girl seemed to want to walk on her own, so he put her on the ground.
She let out a small yawn into the cold air and then walked slowly toward the entrance of the building.
She wore a small red coat that came down to her ankles. On her head was a red trapper hat, and on her feet were a pair of small
red boots.
Her fully red attire made her chubby cheeks look even fairer. She was incredibly cute.
Sherry was mesmerized at a glance and stared at her daughter in fascination.
Ashort while later, when the little girl was about to walk to the steps of the entrance, her large eyes suddenly turned and looked
toward Sherry.
Sherryâs gaze flickered, and she quickly turned around.
