Chapter 1476
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1476
John patted Capriceâs head and answered
expressionlessly, âCaprice missed her mother, and she insisted on coming last night. So, | stayed a night with her.â
Carl's smile froze. âSister Sherry snores when she sleeps. | wonder if she bothered you and Caprice last night.â
John narrowed his eyes but his smile remained. âShe slept well last night. You donât need to worry about that, Young Master
Sager.â
Carl choked on the answer he got and pursed his lips helplessly.
John smiled and continued, âBut she slept rather late last night, and sheâs still not awake. If you are not in a hurry, | would
suggest coming back later.â
Carl awkwardly smiled. âGreat. | stay in this hotel as well, so | can see her every single day. | donât need to rush things.â
â| see... Well, | have something else to attend to. Please excuse me.â ââ
âTake care, Master Stockton.â
John carried Caprice and walked forward. The moment he walked past Carl, his handsome face was shrouded in gloom, and the
smile disappeared.
Back in the quiet suite, Sherry finally opened her eyes an hour later.
The first thing she did was look beside her, but there was no one there. She was the only one on the spacious bed; Caprice was
nowhere to be found.
Sherryâs chest tightened. âCaprice?!â
She got up and wanted to search for her daughter, but then her phone rang.
She picked it up and saw a text from John. âI brought Caprice away.â
Together with the text was a picture of Caprice eating breakfast.
Sherry choked on her nervousness. She replied, âWhy didnât you tell me you were coming?!â
â| did, but you slept like a pig.â
Sherry was left speechless.
âCaprice even said goodbye to you when we left.â
Sherry was deeply annoyed.
Anyway, it was a relief knowing that Caprice was fine, but should there be a second time, she would definitely lock the door from
the inside.
Her expression shifted as she replied, âGot it. Tell Caprice | said âGood Morningâ.â A quick thought later, she sent him a cute and
flattering sticker.
John chuckled when he saw the sticker. He put his phone away and continued to have breakfast with Caprice.
Caprice then looked at him. âDaddy, Iâm done.â
John hummed a reply and wiped her mouth with a piece of tissue.
When he carried her, the girl looked outside blankly with her lips pursed, seeming rather disappointed.
John sharply noticed the girlâs reaction. He stopped and asked, âWhat's wrong, Caprice?â
Caprice said with protruded lips, âI didnât say goodbye to Mommy.â
John was slightly taken aback before he smiled at the girl. âI said goodbye to her on your behalf earlier.â
Her eyes lit up. âThank you, Daddy.â
âYou're welcome.â
The father and daughter then went into the car.
The girl sat in his embrace for a while and then asked, Daddy, can | go see Mommy again later tonight?â Her crystal-clear eyes
were full of anticipation.
John went silent for a while. He smiled and said,
Mommy is quite busy. I'll bring you to her when sheâs free, okay?â
Caprice hummed a reply, obviously disappointed.
John hugged her tighter in his arms. He looked down at his daughter deeply and asked, âCaprice, do you like Mommy?â
â| like Mommy.â
âDo you want to be with her every day?â
âMm-hmm!â The girl nodded without the slightest hesitation.
John smiled. âWhy is that?â
The mother and daughter barely knew each other.
âBecause | like Mommy.â
John smiled. âThen, I'll let you sleep with Mommy every night. Howâs that sound?â
Caprice widened her eyes in excitement. âYeah!â
John smiled with squinted eyes. Other than the kind smile, a strong scheme was brewing behind his golden- framed glasses.
