Chapter 1478
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1478
Sherryâs eyes flickered.
Maybe because her patience was worn out after days of fruitless waiting, she suddenly decided to come out from hiding. She
crossed her arms and stared back at him arrogantly.
John smiled and strode over to her.
Sherry sat on the ground, leaned back on the wall, and refused to move.
Soon, his slender and towering figure arrived before her eyes, shadowing the light from her sight.
âWhat are you doing here, Sherry?â
His hands pocketed in his trench coat as he looked down at her condescendingly. âNo money to buy food, or are you trying to
experience what a homeless person feels like?â
Sherry glared at him. âWhereâs Caprice? | want to see her!â
âCaprice is too busy to see you.â John then turned around and headed to the parking lot.
Sherry bolted up and chased after him. âWhere did you send her? Why is she so busy?â
The girl did not need to go to school, so how could she be busy? It had been days since she saw her daughter.
John ignored her and continued forward.
Sherry followed him to the car. Confused, she continued asking, âMaster Stockton, what did | do to make you unhappy?â
John continued to ignore her. Although he might be wearing a pair of golden-framed glasses that symbolized politeness, he
emanated a frosty and cold feeling.
Sherry felt like she was looking at a stranger.
They soon arrived at the car.
The bodyguard opened the door for him, and he slightly bent over to get in.
Just before he could set foot inside, Sherry mustered her courage and held him back by pulling his arm.
John froze. Even Peter and the bodyguards instinctively took a few steps back.
John turned around. He stared at her hands on his arm and slowly moved closer to her face.
Sherry furrowed her brows at him. âWhere did you send Caprice?!â
He smiled. âSheâs my daughter, | can send her wherever | want.â
She argued, âWell, sheâs my daughter too!â
John pursed his lips. âOnly her fatherâs name is written on the birth certificate.â
Sherryâs chest tightened when she heard him. She unconsciously tightened her grip on his arm.
He frowned. âTake your hands off me.â
She clenched her teeth. âIf you donât let me see her today, | won't let go.â
John grinned. âThen, I'll have to chop your hands off.â
Sherryâs pupils shrank in fear.
It was time for the employees to get off work, so a crowd was coming out from the entrance and heading their way. It was no
surprise that all of them noticed John and
Sherry, and her hands on his arm.
John frowned. âSherry, you'd better let go of your hands now.â
Sherryâs gaze shifted, and she unconsciously let go of his hand.
However, in the next moment, she jumped onto him and hugged his waist tightly. She cried, âWhy?! Why are you doing this to
me? You said youâd love me forever! What changed after that night...â
The passing employees were stunned by what they heard, and a crowd started to gather in front of them.
John was disheartened.
âSherry!â he bellowed.
âWhy... sobs... why... How can you be so coldâ-hearted?
What am | going to do by myself?â
Cold-hearted? By herself?
Driven by his embarrassment, he suddenly curled his lips and put his hand around her waist.
Sherry stopped crying and looked at him in surprise.
John smiled. âSherry, you asked for it.â
He then grabbed her into the car.
