John looked at her full red lips and pursed his own. His

throat bobbed.

Sherry sensed something wrong and frowned at him.

He curled his lips. “Don’t look at me like that. | have no interest in you at all now.”

After saying that, he let go of her chin and walked back into Caprice’s room.

Sherry stared at him and then walked in as well.

John sat on the sofa, reading a book.

Sherry said to him, “Go back to your room and rest. I'll stay with Caprice tonight.

He read the book and ignored her.

Sherry held back her anger. It seemed he did not plan on leaving.

Her eyes flickered, and she walked out with quick steps.

John lifted his eyes to look at her figure and was suspicious.

Was she leaving?

Sherry went to the bathroom as soon as she entered the bedroom.

After quickly washing up, she put on her pajamas, blow- dried her hair, took her phone and a storybook, and went back to

Caprice’s bedroom.

John had not left and was still sitting gracefully on the sofa, reading. He did not even look at her when she came in, possibly

because he did not want to see her.

Sherry also did not pay attention to him. She climbed onto Caprice’s bed and lay down next to her.

John put down the book and looked at her.

She leaned against the bed and tapped away on her phone with her hands. He did not know who she was chatting with, but

there was a smile on her face. It was obvious she wanted to sleep here tonight and not leave.

John glanced at her and turned back to his book.

Sherry was messaging Sylvia after a long time of not keeping in contact.

The first thing she did was to take a picture of herself and Caprice sleeping in the same bed and sent it to Sylvia.

Sylvia quickly replied to her. “Sherry, have you

reconnected with Caprice?”

Sherry said, “Yeah, I’m staying with her now.”

There was a pause before Sylvia replied, “Are you living with John too?”

Sherry could not hide the truth, so she said, “We got a marriage certificate again, but we only agreed to get married because of

Caprice. He hates me now, but he wants to give Caprice a complete family, so he got a certificate with me.”

Meanwhile, far away in Westchester, Sylvia wrinkled her brow after reading the message.

They got a marriage certificate? John still hated her?

No, he was most likely putting on an act because he did not want her to let her guard down.

Shortly before Sherry came back, he had taken Caprice to Westchester to look for Odell and ask about Sherry. How could he

hate her right after she came back?

However, Sylvia was not by Sherry’s side and did not know what exactly happened to them in the past few days, so she could

not say anything.

After thinking about it, she asked, “What about you?”

Sherry replied, “What about me?”

Sylvia asked, “Do you still have feelings for him now?”

Sherry’s expression changed, and she replied without thinking, “Of course not. | only agreed to get married to him for Caprice’s

sake.”

She also wanted to steal Caprice away.

However, she could not say that to Sylvia.

Odell and John had gotten very close over the past two.

years. She was worried that Sylvia would accidentally tell Odell. If he told John about it, then her plans would be foiled.
