Chapter 1514
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1514
Sherry was taken aback by this request.
She walked up to Cart and clapped her hands against his, producing a clear smack, then she said
sincerely. âSend me a message when you get home. | have other errands to get to, | wonât be sending you
off
With that, she walked past him.
Carl grimaced and sighed. âWhat a heartless woman.â
Sherry ignored him and continued pressing forward. She had only taken several steps when she noticed two figures approaching
her.
One was a tall man in a white shirt.
In his arm was Caprice. She was scanning her surroundings with childlike curiosity and the moment she noticed Sherry
approaching, she cried out at the top of her voice, âMommy!â
Sherry lit up the moment she saw Caprice. She hurriedly walked up to them and promptly took Caprice from Johnâs arm while
asking, âWhat brought you two here?â
John smiled and mentioned, âCaprice said she missed you, so | figured Iâd bring her over to see you.â
Midway through his sentence, he darted a glance behind Sherry.
Carl was approaching them with a smug smile on his face. âIf it isnât Master Stockton! Good evening.â
John greeted him with a courteous smile, âMaster Carl, are you leaving already?â
âYeah,â Carl said as he threw a glance at Sherry, âI have a flight to catch. Iâll be seeing you two.â
John stepped to the side to make way for Carl.
Carl threw his backpack over his shoulder and strode outside.
Sherry glanced at Carl hastily exiting the scene like a criminal. She waited until he was out of earshot before turning back to
John. âWhen did you two get here?â
John informed, âA short while ago, we were just a little later than Carl.â
Could this mean that he overheard her conversation with Carl back there?
Oh well, Sherry could not care less as she knew what things were like between Carl and herself.
With that, she gestured. âI finished up here as well, letâs go.â
John made a look and said, âOkay.â
It was still rather early, and Caprice did not want to head home just yet.
Sherry offered to take her to the playground to spend the evening.
Before John could offer any opinion, the little girl cried out gleefully, âOkay!â
So, the two of thern took Caprice to a private playground and spent the evening there.
It was already dark by the time they left the playground.
Sherry carried Caprice in her arms and followed John to a private restaurant they frequented from time to
time.
Since John was a regular, the owner recognized him at first glance.
As soon as Sherry entered with John, the owner greeted them warmly, âYoung Master Stockton, Madam Stockton! Please, come
inside.â
Madam Stockton?
Sherry frowned and tried to correct him, but not before she suddenly remembered that they were indeed husband and wife and
decided against doing so.
Caprice was not a picky eater and ate whatever was put on her plate.
They finished their meal shortly after.
Caprice immediately began to feel sleepy after eating as her exhaustion from playing had finally caught up to her. It did not take
long before she fell asleep in Sherryâs arms.
Sherry was again enchanted by Capriceâs adorable and peaceful look when she was sleeping and planted several kisses on her
cheeks.
She turned up and immediately met a sinister gaze boring down on her.
John was staring at her intently.
She asked grumpily, âWhat?â
He responded with a similar harshness, âDid you even wipe your mouth after eating?â
Was he upset because he thought she kissed Caprice with her lips still grimy from the food they ate?
She answered crossly, âI did, do | look like a child to you?â
âThen why are your lips still greasy?â He frowned and seemed repulsed.
Sherry was taken aback by this. âWhat? How come | canât feel any greasiness?â
âThereâs something stuck to the corner of your lips.â John pointed out.
Sherry wanted to get a mirror from her bag to take a better look, but her bag was next to John. It was hard for her to reach for the
bag with Caprice in her arms.
