Chapter 1523
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1523
Sherry was furious beyond words.
After Sylvia followed Odell out of the room, Sherry grabbed the dice cup and swung it
at John.
Thud!
He caught her hand mid-air.
John clutched her hand, got up, and approached her. His eyes narrowed as he said,â Sherry, are you trying to kill your own
husband?â
Sherry angrily said, âDid you do it on purpose?â
He smiled. âWhat do you mean âon purposeâ?â
âDid you purposely miss all the guesses?!â
âYes, | did,â he said with curled lips.
Sherry choked on his answer. She closed her eyes to clear her mind of the cluttered thoughts, and when she opened her eyes,
she asked, âWhat do you mean?â
âWhat do you mean by âwhat do | meanâ?â the man asked.
Sherry went straight to the point and said, âArenât you supposed to be fed up with me? Then, what the hell was that for?â
âYeah. | was fed up with you a while ago, but now...â
He dangerously approached her.
Sherry instinctively retreated to the wall, but unfortunately, she had nowhere to
escape.
John stood right in front of her while holding one of her wrists. He lifted her chin with his other hand and said, âNow, | somehow
got interested in you again.â
Sherry froze. Her heart pounded wildly as if it was stung by a thorn. She frowned at the man and said, âWe agreed that our
marriage is only for Capriceâs sake! Donât you
cross the line!â
Her eyes were slightly bloodshot, which was a sign of her anxiety. She seemed to be afraid of something.
Could he have reminded her of the days when he had imprisoned her?
The manâs eyes flickered, replacing his dangerous and enchanting smile with a warm and serious expression. âIf you perform
well, | can look past what you did to me, and I won't lock you up anymore.â
Sherryâs eyes flickered, but her expression swiftly turned cold. âYou have no right to lock me up in the first place.â
âMm-hmm. | won't do it again.â
Sherry was stunned by his gentle reaction. The man surprisingly did not argue with her and even promised to not do it again
instead.
Before she could recover her composure, John released her chin. He grabbed the dice from her and put them back on the table.
He then gently knocked her head and said, âCome on, itâs time to go see Caprice.â
Sherry blankly hummed a reply and went out with him.
There was an observatory further away from the game room where one could enjoy the view. The observatory had a sealed
glass room where the guests could warm themselves up as a reprieve from the breeze.
Odell and Sylvia were standing outside the glass room with Isabel and Flint in front of them. Both kids lowered their heads as if
they were apologizing.
Queenie watched helplessly from the side.
When Sherry spotted them, she also spotted the other two figures inside the glass roomâCaprice and Liam.
Given the distance, she was unable to have a clear look at what they were doing. She could only see them sitting together.
Sherry strode over while John followed closely.
There were several entrances to the observatory, and they did not take the entrance where Odell and Sylvia were. In fact, they
went up from the other direction.
As soon as they entered the warm glass room, they saw little chubby Caprice lying down on Liamâs lap. Liam concentrated on
playing with his toy.
The girl was obviously leaning on him on her own accord, and her eyes were looking upwards, either staring at the toy in the
boyâs hand or at the boy himself.
Sherry pursed her lips. She was at a loss for action. She turned to John and saw him looking at her as well with a frosty
expression.
Neither of them expected such a scene.
