Chapter 1531
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1531
Sherry furrowed her brows. âWhat are you trying to do?â
John took off his jacket and shoes. He sat down on the other side of the bed and picked up a book to read.
Sherry blushed. Her eyes flickered.
Johnâs silence clearly stated that she was overthinking.
Awhile later, Sherryâs eyes closed and she dozed off. When she woke up, the sky was still dark, but she was alone in the room.
John and Caprice were gone.
She got up and went outside.
Then, she saw John and Caprice sitting on the couch in the living room. John was sipping on tea while Capriceâs chubby body
leaned on him.
The girl was holding his phone while having a video call with Liam, who had just gotten home, with a wide grin.
Caprice hummed a reply at the screen and then said, âLiam, bye-bye.â
Liam pursed his lips. âBye.â
The video call ended.
Capriceâs smile remained widened as she returned the phone to John.
While he pocketed his phone, Sherry came over and carried the little girl into her arms.
âCaprice, what did you talk to Liam about?â
Caprice smiled in silence, which intrigued Sherry. What did the little couple talk about that made the girl this happy?
It was then that the manâs rich voice spoke, âThey video-called for ten minutes, and they only talked about ten things.â
Sherry was even more confused.
Ten things?
She looked at him. âHow did you know?â
John curved his lips. âI counted.â
Sherry was speechless momentarily before she continued, âWell, what are the ten things they talked about?â
He said, âIt was Liam who asked her the questions about dinner, how she was doing, and so on. Then, the boy said he had to
go, and the call ended.â
Sherry was baffled.
How could such mundane topics last for ten minutes and make the girl this happy?
Nevertheless, Caprice was not even three years old, and her vocabulary was much less than the Carter kids. Her intention of the
call was not to chat with Liam but just to see his handsome face.
Sherry chuckled helplessly. Then, a sudden thought rushed into her mind, and it drove her to ask, âCaprice, why donât | bring you
out for a walk?â
The lingering delight made her answer without a second thought. âYeah!â
John glanced at her. âItâs cold outside. Where are you bringing her?â
Sherry said, âYour place is huge. Can't | take her out for a stroll?â
âFine. Remember to bring your jacket,â John said with a bewitching grin.
Sherryâs gaze flickered. âIâm not stupid.â She carried Caprice back to the room to grab the jacket.
After putting on the red jacket on the girl, the mother and daughter went out for a stroll.
They strolled along the main avenue and eventually reached Madam Stocktonâs front yard. The gate was open, but there was no
one there.
A quick thought later, Sherry asked Caprice, âCaprice, do you know who lives here?â
