Chapter 1533
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1533
Her concerned expression was immediately replaced by a delightful smile.
She hugged Caprice and pointed at the table with toys and snacks. âCaprice, which snack do you want? Or which toy do you
want to play with?â
Caprice shook her head.
âYou donât want to play or eat?â
Caprice nodded and hummed a reply.
âThen, tell me what you want. Even if you want the stars from the sky, I'll get you one right away!â
Caprice opened her mouth. âIâm hungry. | want to eat.â
Madam Stockton choked for a moment before she burst out in laughter. This would be the first in many days since she felt this
happy.
The servant also smiled when she saw Madam Stockton laugh. âI'll tell the kitchen to serve dinner right away.â
âTell them to prepare Capriceâs favorite.â
âl understand.â
Sherry pocketed both her hands as she returned to her own place.
John was still on the couch when she came in, and when he noticed Caprice was not with her, he asked, âWhereâs Caprice?â
âAt your motherâs.â
John was slightly surprised. He asked with a smile, âHow did she end up at my motherâs?â
Sherry averted his gaze and explained, âShe said she missed her Grandma, so | sent her over.â
The servant was serving dinner.
Sherry sat down at the table and was ready to dig in.
John got up and sat opposite her. He stared at her with his sharp gaze and asked, âIs it true that she missed her Grandma?â
âYeah. Or else why would | send her there?â
âHaha.â
âWhat are you laughing at?â
âSherry, do you really think that, as a father, | donât know my own daughter?â He curved his eyes and lips into a devilish gaze.
Sherryâs eyes flickered. She did not say a word.
John stared at her. âBe honest. Why did you send her over?â
Sherry was annoyed by his persistence, but since the man had already seen through her disguise, there was nothing else to hide
anymore.
âI saw your mother hiding behind the wall when we came back.â
Johnâs expression shifted.
She added, âYou went in with Caprice, so you didnât see her. | think she came to see Caprice.â
The atmosphere fell into a momentary silence.
John curled his lips into a smile. âSo, you sent Caprice to her?â
âYeah. What else?â Sherry answered out of annoyance.
John chuckled. âEat.â
Sherry dug in.
Then, a piece of fried rib, which was her favorite, was placed on her plate. It was John who had done that.
Sherryâs heart raced, but she said, âI have hands. | can eat on my own.â
He smiled. âI didnât do it on purpose. Iâm just afraid that when you stand up to reach the ribs, you'll get them on me.â
Sherry choked in silence and glared at him.
The plate of fried ribs was indeed further away, but even if she had to stand up to reach it, she would not spill the gravy or fling
the meat onto him.
