After John sent the last text to Sherry, he dug through his contact for Odell’s number and called him.

The phone rang twice and was promptly hung up on the third ring.

John was caught off guard by this.

He hung up?

Odell may not be the most approachable person out there, but he would not just hang up.

Was he in the middle of something too?

Both of them were busy at such an unnatural hour...

He thought for a moment, then he waited two minutes before calling Odell’s number again.

Ring ring...

After several rings, the call was hung up again.

John scowled.

This time, he waited ten minutes before calling again.

Unlike the first two times, when the call was connected at the second ring, he heard the ruffled and heavy voice of the man.

“What do you need?”

He sounded grumpy.

John smiled and said, “No, it’s nothing important, | was just calling to help Sherry ask if your wife is busy.”

Odell answered, “She’s by my side, what does Sherry want from her?”

“It's nothing important, she was just bored and wanted to chat with Mrs. Carter, but since Mrs. Carter hasn’t been texting back

she got a little worried, so | figured I'd help her call and ask if something had happened.”

Odell remained silent for a moment before saying, “...Got it.”

He seemed like he was holding back something.

Then he promptly hung up.

John smiled and sent Sherry a text, “Just contacted Mr. Carter, Mrs. Carter is with him and should be texting you back any time

now.

Meanwhile, at the Carter’s Residence in Westchester.

Inside Sylvia and Odell’s bedroom.

They were in the middle of something and ended up getting interrupted.

Sylvia slouched over Odell’s shoulders, her cheeks still glowing red from their activity. After he put away the phone, she asked,

“Who was that?”

Odell took a breath and answered, “John.”

Sylvia nodded.

John was perhaps the only one in the world who would dare to continue pestering Odell with calls even though he hung up not

once but twice.

Sylvia suddenly remembered Sherry was with John, so she asked again, “Was he looking for you for something urgent?”

Odell told her, “Sherry sent you a message and when you didn’t reply, she got worried that something might have happened to

you. Long story short, John called me to see if everything was alright.”

“Oh.” Sylvia frowned. “Why didn’t she just call me instead?”

Odell agreed with this. He took his phone again and looked at the call logs.

John had called him three times, with a two minute interval between the first and second time, then another ten minutes before

he called the third time. It seemed like he had deliberately waited ten minutes before calling the third time.

He was an adult, he should be able to figure out based on the circumstances what Odell and Sylvia were doing.

Was he trying to spoil their night just because he could not win over Sherry?!

Inside Sherry and John’s courtyard.

After receiving the update from John, Sherry frowned.

Did it take him the better half of ten minutes for him just to finally get in touch with Odell? Sylvia was with Odell?

Sherry looked at the night sky, she figured out the implications and suddenly glowered with embarrassment.

Ding ding.

Her phone rang again, this time it was Sylvia who finally texted her, “Her Sherry. Sorry | was busy just now and wasn’t looking at

my phone. Do you need anything?”

Sherry was glad that Sylvia finally texted and hurriedly replied, “It's nothing important, | just wanted to chat with you.”

Sylvia sent another message, “Sorry, | need to take a quick shower. Talk to you later.”

Sherry was very understanding, “Alright, go ahead. I'll see you in a bit.”

She texted John again after that and asked, “How many times did you call Odell just now?”

John replied, “Three times, why?”

Sherry was flabbergasted.

Why would he knowingly interrupt them? What was wrong with this man?
