Chapter 1556
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1556
Sherryâs eyes gleamed.
Barbecue! She loved having grilled meat outdoors!
For some reason, she had a feeling that the man prepared the grill just for her.
John raised a brow at Sherryâs stillness. âWhat's wrong? Donât want to eat? Then, I'll tell them to bring the things back inside.â
âNo! Wait! Yes! I'll go right now!â
He had already prepared the grill, so why not just enjoy it rather than let the effort go to waste?
Sherry got up from the bed and strode outside but was stopped at the door by the man. He put his hand behind her neck and
tugged her closer into his arms.
Sherry was forced to lean on his chest, and before she could react, he said in his deep voice, âPut on a jacket before you go
out.â
He then released her.
Sherryâs heart raced and her chest heaved strongly. She hummed a reply as she went to get a jacket in the closet before coming
back out.
As usual, John was sitting by the window in the living room.
Outside the window was the front yard with the grill prepared for the barbecue. The grill and the ingredients were ready. All that
was left was to grill them.
Sherry strode outside to the grill and deftly put all the meat on it.
She ate as she grilled, but there was too much food on the table for her to finish alone, so she called Aunt Wanda, Jason, and
the other servants in the front yard to enjoy the meal together.
She served the meat on the plates and said, âYou guys, dig in. Eat while itâs hot!â
Jason and the other servants were too shy to act right away.
Aunt Wanda said, âMs. Fowler, Master Stockton is waiting inside. Why donât | bring some for him?â
Sherry instinctively turned around to the window.
John leaned back on the chair with his hands crossed and his eyes glued to her.
Sherry nervously turned back around. She gave a plate of freshly grilled steak to Aunt Wanda for her to bring to John.
Aunt Wanda smiled and brought it in.
When Sherry turned around again, she saw the man digging in, and there were two cans of beer in front of him. The man really
knew how to enjoy himself.
Sherry grilled some more meat before passing the position of grillmaster to Jason. She then grabbed two plates of steak inside
and sat opposite John.
She grabbed a can of beer from him, cracked it open, and started gulping it down.
How refreshing!
The sky suddenly started snowing. While the snow was not terribly heavy, the front yard was gradually covered by a layer of
white.
Aunt Wanda and the servants quickly moved the plates of grilled meat into the corridor while Jason and another maid continued
grilling.
The snow somehow made them happier. Everyone enjoyed having hot food in the cold weather.
To Sherry, being able to enjoy grilled steak and a can of refreshing beer in the snowy scene felt great too.
Maybe because the alcohol started to take over her, she raised her can of beer in front of John and said with a bright smile, âHey,
jerk, letâs have a toast!â
John smiled. He grabbed his can of beer and performed a toast with the tipsy woman. He only had a sip but Sherry gulped the
beer like a draught monster.
Outside the front yard stood Julieâs trusted maid, Mia. She watched for a while
before she left. She quickly headed to Julieâs place and informed Julie about what happened.
Julie was having her afternoon tea.
